A delicious meal in a traditional pub! Fantastic! We will return

We booked a table in the restaurant for 7 30. We were told the table wasn't ready and it would be at least 15 minutes or we were told we could sit in the bar area. The table was right next to the bar and the other tables had dogs with them so we said we would rather wait. We were seated at about 7 45 in the restaurant and were surprised to see two empty tables so not sure why we couldn't have been seated at one of those. They weren't set up and no other diners came in. Food was lovely as always and service was good . When we asked for the bill we were the last people in the restaurant area. The waiter brought our bill, along with the card machine and stood over us until we paid the bill making us feel a bit uncomfortable. We got the impression they wanted the restaurant area cleared and customers out. Which is probably why they asked us to sit in the bar area as we were the last diners of the night in the restaurant.We have never experienced this before. Maybe it was the time of year or maybe the manager was off. But not a great impression. It certainly would make us think twice about booking again on our next visit to Keswick.

Our family of 3 adults & a 5 year old really enjoyed our meals at the Pheasant. It is a lovely cosy place & the food was excellent. The staff are really friendly & service was good. They were very kind to our young (very chatty!) grandson even though they were all very busy on a Friday evening. Highly recommended,

Searched for a good place to eat before visiting Keswick and pre booked a table at The Pheasant. Fantastic food, great service, cosy surroundings. Recommend booking as it was a midweek night and still very busy. Lamb Henry was perfectly cooked, the beef pie was flavoursome and the chips were home-cooked and tasty. Prices were excellent considering its popularity. We will definitely go back when we next visit Keswick.

excellent meal all round. Nice and ward with good service and friendly atmosphere. My daughter has Coeliac disease and has to be gluten free - no problem here, really made us all feel relaxed the menu was very clear regarding what was and wasn't gluten free so we knew exactly what we could and couldn't share and so nice for the chips in particular to be GF so much more choice. Thank you.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the Pheasant Inn. I was expecting more pub that serves food versus a restaurant that is also a pub. The food is very, very good. Everyone at our table was very pleased by what was ordered. A very cozy, pleasant experience and I would very happily come back.

Always a great experience at a genuine Keswick Pub. Great food, friendly efficient service and a warm - if a little cluttered - atmosphere. All part of the charm of one of the best dining venues in Keswick.

Excellent experience. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Beer was good, food very tasty and well presented. Whole process from online booking to paying was well managed. Really enjoyed our evening

Visited with family from the Midlands They had been many years ago and loved the hotel Their meals were fine but mine was v v disappointing I am coeliac and was limited for choice I chose the beef dinner The meat was inedible It was so tough I could have soled my shoes with it !! Not really what I expected from a hotel of your calibre

The food we had was very nice but very disappointing that there was nothing left in the menu for starters even though we had booked the table in advance The staff were lovely and very friendly just a shame they ran out of droid for starters

We had a meal for 4 on NYE staff were really welcoming and service was great. We had 3 Sunday roast meals that were amazing with a good selection of vegetables. One person had fish pie and said it was delicious. We had one person who was gluten free and they were well catered for. The STP was gorgeous, highly recommended, we will be back 5 Star

Great place to enjoy a Sunday lunch near Keswick. Lots of food and very friendly staff. Good value for money. Booking in advance required to avoid disappointment. I would return there when in the area.

2nd time we’ve dined here & we will be back. Gorgeous food & wonderful service. The only negative was where our seat was positioned. We were right next to the loos & next to people sat at the bar, these people were hovering around waiting for our table which we though rude even after staff told them the table wouldn’t be ready for a while, this however won’t deter us from returning in the hope we will be sat somewhere else next time. Fabulous food on Saturday 30th . Pub was busy eith a lovely atmosphere.We had the venison and the shin beef both superb.Service was excellent, even though it was very busy . Best meal we have had in Keswick. We will certainly return when back in Keswick .

We really enjoyed our meal on Christmas Eve. Couldn’t fault anything. If only all pubs were as good!!

Superb food, service and prices. Best restaurant in Keswick by a mile.

Booked last minute for 8 , no problems and had a beautiful post walk lunch. Pub cosy , atmospheric and food was amazing.
