We prebooked this restaurant after checking Tripadvisor and the food is very good. I would have given 5* as my food was superb, chicken, leek and bacon pie, my wife had the pork fillet from the specials board and found it too salty. However if in Keswick this is worth a visit about a 12 minute walk out of town but the staff are friendly.

We recently visited for the first time and were very happy with our evening. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was delightful. Excellent value for money too!

Nice, homely pub with great service and good, down-to-earth food. Definitely recommend the lamb henry. Dog-friendly too!

I explained one of our group is vegetarian and gluten intolerant at the time of booking, but the only real option was the vegetables without the meat/wellington. It was quite cold when we sat down, but it did warm up a bit when a few more people came in. The basic roast dinners were generous, but there weren’t many side vegetables for 4 people to share. Nice ice creams.

We had the black pudding bon bons to start, which were delicious. We then ordered the vegetarian Wellington and the Cumberland sausage; both of which we would highly recommend. Good service too throughout the evening.

Five of us went for Sunday lunch as we’ve done happily on previous annual visits to Keswick. Staff were friendly and we were quickly shown to our table although it was very busy. Our order was taken quickly but sadly we had to wait over an hour for our meal. We were told after several requests that the kitchen was short-staffed. The roast dinners when they arrived were disappointing with very dry beef and some over-cooked vegetables. There was also far too much food.

Small pub, very busy. We didn't have long to wait for our meal and the service was good. I had the beef bourguignon which was generous and tasty. My wife had the salmon and crushed new potatoes in butter. My wife loves salmon, new potatoes and butter, however there was enough butter for about 6 meals. As the potatoes were crushed they had soaked it up, but still there was about an eighth of an inch of excess in the dish. She eventually gave up, not even able to finish the salmon. When commenting to the waitress we were told that 'people like it that way'.

We live locally and this pub although small offers a great choice of food and the service is excellent- I had gammon which was bigger than my head! With 2 eggs! Dog friendly too.

We only visit Keswick once a year and Sunday Lunch at the Pheasant is a bit of a tradition. Once again service and food well up to the standard we've grown to expect. It's nice to find constancy in life! Bring an appetite - or take away a 'doggy bag'. Really tasty traditional food and great pubby atmosphere - good beer too. Do book on a summer Sunday -it was really busy

We have eaten at the Pheasant many times and the food has always been good traditional pub food. I had the Lamb Henry which was very tasty and a huge portion (about the size of my normal Sunday joint). My wife had chicken and leek pie and chips. She did not like the sauce on top of the pie which dominated the flavour of everything. Service was friendly and attentive and fast enough on a busy night. Our table felt a bit like an add on to fill a small gap and was very small. We had a number of other diners waiting directly behind and bumping my seat which was a bit off-putting and rude.

Two friends and I recently had a meal here. We all had Sunday roasts, but all chose different ones. The service was faster than I expected. We all tasted each other’s, so got to try all three options. They were delicious. I mentioned that the nut roast was a bit spicy for me (unexpectedly, as I didn’t think it would be spicy at all), and they said they would take my comments into consideration, which was nice. I don’t think the others thought the nut roast was particularly spicy though - I am just really sensitive to it, so don’t let what I say put you off. All the options were really nice. We all got milkshakes too. Very nice, lovely and sweet. Fantastic that it is 100% plant based. Nice atmosphere and staff. Great that it accepts dogs too. It’s a cute place. We were too full for dessert and felt satisfied after our meals. We all enjoyed the experience. I am returning soon with some other friends. There are quite a few options on the menu I’d like to try.

The booking of a table was very easy and straightforward! However afterwards was less impressed! I had booked for 14:45, sort of felt that the reservation was forgotten about, we got seated after 5 minutes, order was taken very quickly but we waited over an hour to get our food! There was no Yorkshire Pudding left that was disappointing and my other half thought his beef was ok! I went for the beef pie and to be honest it was very disappointing not much beef in the pie all pastry which was over cooked and tough to eat! The pie lacked flavour and the only saving grace was the chips they where very nice! Overall the service was lacking and as we waited an hour not one member gave us an update! Only one server giving out everyones meals despite lots of other staff around! This was a recommended visit but unfortunately our experience was not as positive!

Take a stroll through the lovely Fitz Park to reach his pub which stands slightly outside the town centre and stands out from the run-of-the-mill establishments too. How refreshing to be welcomed and served by staff who seem genuinely to enjoy their work, be served food that hasn't just been microwaved and doesn't come from a menu that seems to have been replicated by every pub in town along with cartel-like and silly prices. A genuinely traditional pub where we really enjoyed the atmosphere, service, drinks and food.

Food was lovely, beef very tender. Piping hot. Deserts expensive for a desert that we thought would be home cooked. Crumble was like jelly and crumble was not like crumble

Another fabulous meal at the Pheasant Inn. The homemade food is very tasty. Perfect end to a walking day. Local beer is highly recommended too. Friendly, welcoming staff.

First of all the staff are great, excellent service and thankfully had still saved our table even though we were late and they had such demand they could have easily given it away. The food is delicious and the menu far beyond your usual pub. It’s in no way overpriced and has a lovely atmosphere.
