Has anybody ever ordered and finished 3 courses at The Pheasant. A starter/main - main/pud might just be possible if you haven’t eaten all day. Wholesome food, good service and a great atmosphere all make for a satisfying evening after a day on the fells.

This was our first visit to The Pheasant but it certainly won’t be the last.Lovely, welcoming and authentic pub, and a good range of local meals. Lots of choice, including venison, fish, pies, and veggie options. Definitely a cut above the average pub options in nearby Keswick We were served within minutes and both chose the lamb Henry. Delicious, mouthwatering lamb in a lovely sauce. Huge amount of meat and generous portions of seasonal vegetables. Would have loved to try something from the dessert menu, but no room. Good range of beer and wines too. Friendly, thoughtful service; owners very much in evidence too. Excellent value for money. We will definitely return next time we visit Keswick. 7 of us spent Saturday evening at the Pheasant and without exception all adults were delighted with the quality, price and quantity of the food choices, and we all had something different. The atmosphere in the pub was great. Staff were friendly and efficient and, without asking, were attentive and pleasant. I would have no hesitation in recommending this pub and intend to return on our next trip. I can assure you I am not a ‘share holder’ but cannot praise the whole setup enough. Best pub meal I’ve had in a long time. Defo need to book as pub was packed which speaks volumes in an area well served with eating establishments. Thanks Sue

We really wanted to get to the Pheasant-Inn at Keswick after looking at the menu and reading the reviews. The problem was, we arrived for lunch, and the dishes we were interested in, though they appear in the lunch menu, weren't ready at this late hour of our arrival (around 14:00). So we couldn't get the fish pie, but we did enjoy the beef pie and also the spare ribs (ordered 2 starter portions to make a main). Other than that, loved the atmosphere and the service.

Fabulous meal, friendly staff. Couldn’t fault our meal, perfect pub grub in a great atmosphere. The fact that they weren’t serving starters was not an issue as it meant we had room for pudding. After a superb lamb Henry and a delightful crumble we were glad of the walk home afterwards!!

Absolutely fantastic Sunday Lunch. Food really good quality and value for money. Friendly atmosphere and excellent service.

Maybe the best Yorkshire puddings I’ve tasted. Love that Sunday lunch comes in two sizes. But best of all is the staff service - polite, friendly, chatty and helpful despite being very busy in this popular pub.
