As always, visited The Pheasant. As always, you need to book as it is always busy. You don’t need a degree to work out why. Great choice of good beers, even better choice of great food at a reasonable price. Bear with the staff, they are lovely and rushed off their feet. We ate there twice this week. As good as ever. Keswick’s worst kept secret. Thanks to everyone, again. See you next year as normal.

Great welcoming service in a traditional Lakeland pub and lovely food. Our friend has a gluten allergy so we were able to order food which suited her. Would definitely return if in the area. Top marks.

Great food in a lively atmosphere. All the pub favourites plus some special dishes. Loved the Venison.

Went for a meal on Monday 3rd October. The service was second to none, the food was great and reasonably priced. We felt really comfortable and were served in a reasonable time despite the place being busy. We will definitely be back.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch. I chose the small portion which was more than adequate while the male members of our party had a regular portion. The food was nicely cooked. I particularly enjoyed the vegetables which were cooked ‘just right’. All the staff were very pleasant. My only criticism would be the side room lacked the atmosphere of the main bar.

Fantatstic, accommodating staff. Very helpful. Food was delicious and supported by wonderful pints of Jennings Cumberland Ale. A real find just outside of the centre of Keswick.

Great menu, and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed by our party of 8. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating, and we were really pleased to be able to eat there twice in our short stay in Keswick. Excellent all round.

So came in for dinner two nights in a row which I think kind of speaks for itself. Yes there are lots of pubs in town where you can go and get something to eat in the evening but I think The Pheasant just has a few more options on the menu that makes it stand out as a great traditional pub to visit. Oh and the beers on offer are decent too.

Booked online, table for four, confirmed promptly by email. Lovely homely atmosphere. Log fire. Good selection of beers. No starters due to staff shortages, a common problem unfortunately. Order taken quickly and food arrived quicker than expected. Between us we tried the aged steak and the venison. Both beautifully cooked and presented. Chips were perfect. For dessert we had cheesecake, gooseberry & apple pie and lemon posset. All were delicious. Waiters very friendly and helpful. Only (minor) issue is that, although Wifi is advertised on notice outside as available, they wouldn't give us the password for some reason I couldn't quite understand. Certainly not a deal breaker but as mobile signal is almost non existent it might matter to some. All in all a very pleasant evening. On my list to do again.

Absolutely brilliant food and friendly staff

The food was delicious, hot and well presented. Took a long time to take our order, staff seemed to be more interested in folding napkins and chatting together. Male staff on his first day was working his socks off.

The Pheasant Inn is always our go to when we come back to Keswick for a few days away. It's just what we want in a pub at the end of a hard day on the fells. Great food and beers available and friendly staff who look after us well. The menu is just that bit more interesting than the other pubs in town and the quality is excellent. Yep it works for us and that's why we like to keep coming back.

Absolutely great evening meal. Makes a great change to have some perfectly cooked vegetables. Best food in Keswick.
