Ok for a local pub, the service was friendly and the food was ok. Don't order the pizzas on the kids meal, its more like cheese on toast but not with proper cheese. The portion sizes are generous, the ketchup satchets were not! The veg accompanying the pies were not cooked properly, they were very hard and not tasty. The decor in general was a bit tired and dated. No old school pub charm, just in need of a lick of paint.

Great food, friendly service. Seven of us for Sunday lunch and everything was spot on.

The food was brilliant- almost too good for the venue! From the outside the place looks a bit shabby; scruffy looking beer garden, bad music pumping out…etc and inside was a bit cramped, tables a bit sticky, more bad music, tired toilets… etc so our expectations were low for the meal. However, the Sunday roast was one of the best I’ve had; meat cooked perfectly, great veg, superbly presented; all delicious and the puddings were incredible too! The venue just needs to up its game to match the quality and standard of the meals.

Despite being very busy the staff were polite and friendly. We were served courteously and in a reasonable space of time. The food was nice & the atmosphere very friendly.

Absolutely fabulous food and easy booking process. Reasonable prices for stunning food and large portions. Very well catered for as we were a group of 7. Best place in Keswick for pub food by far!!

On the hottest day the UK has on record the staff were great. Food doesn’t fail to please. Will be back soon.

No starters available, very poor vegan and vegetarian offerings, under staffed. Not a good experience.

We book The Pheasant Inn whenever we visit Keswick which is usually three times a year because we can rely on the same high standard of the food on offer. We have never been disappointed.

Came here with high recommendations from our B&B. Food was steaming hot and delicious but unfortunately server was either distracted or didn’t want to be at work. She hardly checked in to see if we wanted or needed nothing else.

Booked online for 7.30. Arrived at 7.20 to be told table not ready but have a seat won’t be long! Finally got seated at 7.50 and after ordering our meal arrived just after 8.30! The food was extremely good but service absolutely shocking! Staff haven’t a clue who is waiting for tables. Sorry but won’t be returning and can’t recommend!

very easy booking system and efficient communication. pleasant and efficient service. good traditional sunday lunch. very good value. alerted to a shortage of staff in the kitchen but this was well managed.

We visit Keswick a few weekends a year and always eat here for our evening meal on the 2 nights we stay which is always amazing service and food, however on Saturday 16th this wasn’t the case. Staff were very stressed as you could clearly see and seemed short on staff, but that shouldn’t mean it effects our experience, the table was booked for 7:30 and we’d still not been seen to by 7:50, asked the manager if we could place our order and he looked at us as though we were an inconvenience and said ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’ 10 minutes later there was still no one back to take our order but we’re serving customers who were seated after us, in the end we decided to leave and eat elsewhere. We’ve never had an issue here before the staff are usually always on with it and friendly and it’s always been a great place but last night was extremely disappointing.

Lovely meal as usual been to the Pheasant several times and the the service and food is always top draw.

The 4 girls that were working when we visited on Monday 11th June were literally running everywhere to try and keep up with the orders! They were amazing under very stressful circumstances. There were irate customers complaining about not being able to order food and in all honesty I think the management need to take a long hard look at themselves rather than leave the youngsters to try and front the complaints. There didn’t seem to be any senior management around! The food was excellent when it arrived, but the young staff deserve better support!
