Amazing place to sit comfortably in beautiful surroundings... lovely fire on making it lovely and cosy... This was a treat for my mum and was a surprise for her... Last time we were there was when we lived there and my mum used to work there over 30 years ago, so brought back some very special memories.... a lot has changed, but then so much is just the same as it was... i stepped back in time to my childhood... Huge thank you to Jude who was more than happy to show us round too which was a lovely gesture... Will definitely come back again Thank you

Fabulous! Afternoon tea was a real surprise. So many lovely items served both hot and cold. The castle surroundings are beautiful too. We’d love to come back again and highly recommend.

We came for afternoon tea mid-week; so peaceful! Loved the quirky nature of the place with all the artefacts, family pictures, old photography equipment & original & historical charm! The intro of warm soup to the afternoon tea was a welcome if unexpected addition! Gorgeous scones & endless tea & coffee!

Absolutely fantastic afternoon tea - could not believe what you got for the money and really it should have been a lot more than I paid! Beautiful setting, comfortable, amazing food would highly recommend Quiet atmosphere- would have been good to have some background music

Beautiful place, very cosy and welcoming. We had a lovely afternoon tea, the food was lovely and enjoyable. A very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Superb venue with excellent tasty morsels for you to enjoy. We dined on local lamb, local pork and a vegetarian option, all dishes were well presented and served in an efficient and friendly style. We will definitely return and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Fantastic food, excellent wine, and wonderful customer service. Such a relaxed environment for both dining and staying, they have created a perfect blend of 5 star surroundings with a warm, welcoming, and relaxed style. Will definitely be going back.

Lovely friendly staff and very helpful owner, Simon. The Castle is a credit to you all. Food excellent, service excellent and surrounding views amazing. It was also a pleasure to see that the Castle is very dog friendly. Good luck to all of you in what has been a very difficult time for business.

Took my grandma for her 90th birthday cannot fault the food or service both were brilliant however my tea cup was stained and had dried tea leaf inside it . We also had my 1 year old niece with us and when she was crawling and walking around she was absolutely covered in dog hair from the wooden floor which was very dirty

Superb is the only word to describe it. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff are both pleasant and helpful (nothing is too much trouble). Would recommend it to anyone

Our Afternoon Tea was very good, and the service and ambience were lovely.

Had gray afternoon tea with friends , lovely welcome , staff and great character building . We all enjoyed othe relaxed atmosphere and food. In a lovely setting . Would go back again .

We received a voucher for christmas and before receiving the voucher had no idea Augill castle existed despite passing it frequently on the A66. But what a beautiful tranquil place it is. Booking was easy, parking plentiful. We were greeted by friendly staff who showed us to our table in front of a log burner which was perfect on a gray cold day. We were offered tea or coffee quickly followed by delicious fresh cakes and savory bites served with amazing French onion soup. Overall we enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended and will be returning to stay.

Delicious afternoon tea in a perfect setting. So cosy by the fire on a windy day. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Lauren was a great help during the booking process.

We booked the music room for a family get together to celebrate the wedding of our son/daughter in law that had taken place in Australia during Covid lockdown. The cabaret layout helped people to mingle and the food was excellent with regular supplies of tea/coffee throughout the afternoon. The venue was perfect for adults and children with the lounge and garden available for the children to play and the wonderful atmosphere of the castle charming everyone who attended. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive. Thanks to the whole team for making this a wonderful and very happy occasion

Staying at the Castle and have eaten here twice and both times the meals have been excellent. Good service, good food and great value for money. One of my daughters had the chicken both times and said it was the best chicken dish she had ever had!! High praise.
