We received a voucher for Afternoon Tea for Two, so decided to book in to brighten up a January day. We booked for 2pm on a Sunday and stood in reception for a little while before being shown in by a gentleman and to our little table for 2 by the window. We were asked if we'd like tea or coffee and had only a short wait before our food and drinks arrived. The lady who brought out our food was friendly and explained what each cake and savory item was on the tea stand. Some of the savory items could have done with being warm, but we're still very tasty. The cakes were all lovely and fresh tasting and was overall very good. There was just the right amount of food too without it being too much. We did hand our voucher over after we has finished and we sat and waited a little while to be acknowledged again before we left, as it would have felt rude to simply leave and not thank anybody and to ensure all was okay with the voucher. All in all a lovely relaxing atmosphere with a friendly team, in a beautiful setting.

Afternoon tea was delightful. Delicious homemade fare. Quiet and stunning location. Lovely decor. Looking forward to going again. Staff welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Marvellous dinner ..All 3 courses were excellent , succulent salmon, lovely pork , and divine desserts in very classy surroundings . Service - top notch .

Excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble.

Very clean and comfortable and very spacious. Bathroom is beyond what we have ever experienced. Menu is limited, but however very well presented and very tasty. The castle is very quirky and has great historical features. No room is the same!! The owners and staff are very accomadating. Nothing is too much trouble. The grounds are splendid and plenty of walks to explore. The poetry trail is one. Anyone that can explain them, I would love to hear!!! Overall a wonderful experience and stay.

My husband and I were gifted afternoon tea for two. I looked at the reviews of the various venues and Augill Castle's was by far the best. We were not disappointed. The lady owner went out of her way to organise the experience for us. The food and service was excellent and the venue so interesting. All staff were very hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to all at Augill Castle.

Brilliant afternoon tea even though we were by ourselves. Food & service were outstanding but the jewel in the crown was the wonderful Augill castle. We really felt we were aristocracy! Well worth the drive from Windermere. Would return in a heart beat.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea yesterday at Augill Castle. We sat by the fire and the room was beautiful. The food was delicious and as a baker myself I'm often hard to impress when it comes to cakes and desserts but they were amazing. We also ordered a gluten free afternoon tea and that ticked all the boxes as well. Thank you.

A very enjoyable Afternoon Tea in a super environment. Forget the bland big chains and go to Augill Castle for a Hotel with a difference. Superb scenery, fabulous interiors and furnishings and very enjoyable food. Best of all really welcoming and caring staff who went the extra mile to make it an Afternoon Tea to remember for all the best reasons. Due to Covid we had waited from February 2020 until September 2021 and the wait was so worthwhile. Thank you Bennett Family and staff, you are great

We had a lovely afternoon tea in the beautiful drawing room. The sandwiches and cakes were excellent. The service was excellent and in such a lovely setting. I would definitely recommend Augill Castle and will visit again.

We stayed at the castle as a small family group and enjoyed afternoon tea, dinner and breakfast. All were excellent, freshly cooked and delivered by a friendly team. This is a genuine place run by people who care. Service is warm, welcoming and real. Surroundings are delightful. This is a place in which to relax with the ones you love.

What a delightfully quirky gem! Fabulous afternoon tea with fizz, great staff (and Maisie the dog) So much care has gone into breathing life into this amazing venue yet it still feels so personal and friendly. Will definitely be recommending
