We are visiting my brother and sister-in-law. On the Friday they showed us round Leeds and then brought us here for dinner. The menu here is great with a very good selection of dishes and the food was simply fabulous. This has to be a very popular place to eat out. We have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

My uncle and aunt brought us here for Friday evening dinner and what a treat it turned out to be! The menu was amazing with a varied and imaginative choice of dishes. This has to be a great tourist attraction which Leeds can truly be proud of. I can highly recommend this friendly restaurant.

Went to Toast after work last night for the first time. Had been before when it was Breeze but it looked totally different, really urban and lively. Were just going to call in for a quick drink (we actually sat outside too - in the sun, in the centre of Leeds!) and ended up eating there. Food is excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful but not in your face. Will definitely go there again, perhaps try it on weekend and will be recommending it!

chaophraya, where can you start? fantastic staff so child friendly, amazing food we go all the time and we receive the same high standard every time we go, infact i might go as far as saying this is THE best restaurant in yorkshire, if you get the opportunity to go don't pass it up

My experience at Kendells was quite frankly the best meal out I've had in years. Unpretentious, yet classy, the interior offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, which is reinforced by the brilliant staff. I would be prepared to write a glowing review based on the service alone, were it not for the fact that the food I had was simply sublime. The menu is alluringly displayed on an expansive blackboard (all the better for frequent menu changes reflecting the seasonality of ingredients), featuring timeless bistro classics such as french onion soup, duck liver pate, salmon en croute and tarte citron. The dishes themselves may be typical of the bistro style, but the quality of the food was definitely atypical and positively outstanding. On seeing the prices, I was certainly not expecting the superlative calibre of the food. After just one mouthful of the salmon, I was ready to name my first child after the chef. We went for a pre-theatre 3-course set menu, which included a half bottle of wine per head. On arriving (late), our hostess quickly ascertained that we needed to be at the theatre afterwards, and consequently ensured that our courses were served swiftly (without feeling rushed), as well as ordering us a taxi (the restaurant is next door to the Playhouse, but we were going to The Grand). Overall, the experience was one I would love to re-experience, and I would recommend this bistro to anyone and everyone. I wish I lived in Leeds so I could go back whenever I wanted!

Very cool establishment. Thoroughly delicious food prepared with much love and skill (chef trained in a top cookery college in France). Friendly atmosphere - cosy and chilled. Brilliant place to have a nice relaxing lunch or unwind after a hard day's work. The bar staff are very very good and professional. Excellent service and proper ale (the way ale should be!)

Aagrah is awesome. Been to the one in St Peters Square loads of times & Skipton quite a few times. Just recently started visiting the Clarence Dock, Leeds Cafe Aagrah ... staff, venue & food all amazing. Try the Makhani if you like sweet/mild, or Hyderabadi for medium, or my favourite - Achar for a little more spicy. Onion bhajis are the best in the world! Aagrah is setting the standards high & is probably my favourite restaurant ever. I'm totally addicted & have to visit at least once a month ;o)

Awful restaurant that cannot possibly sustain the length of menu or the numbers it tries to cater for. Starters tasted like they were fried in sump oil and all 3 of my party left over half their main courses. None of the staff asked if anything was wrong. The only comment we had from staff (five times) was to remind us that they needed our table back at 8pm for the second cover. I will not be returning. Over priced, poor food with a shoddy service (despite the loveliness of the art decor ocean liner feel of the place).

When I picked up my student daughter at the end of term, we came here for something to eat. Thought it was great! I had a mild lamb rogan josh and she had a king prawn korma. She loved hers, but I found it a little sweet. My meal was just delicious! The portions were good, but I wasn't left feeling stuffed. I loved the setting in the park. It was lovely to look out over trees. The atmosphere was nice.The waiter who took our order was pleasant and helpful but some of the other waiting staff were grumpy. The meal cost £20. They wouldn't accept my Scottish £20 note! It is legal tender, of course. Lucky I had a card with me.

A hidden gem that not too many people know about! Akmals is fantastic food for a fantastic price. Highly recommended to everyone. Give it a try and you will be hooked!!!

Very opulent surroundings and the food was OK, if a little overpriced. However the service was extremely poor and we will not be visiting again.

Just as good as I remembered - tried the beer-battered prawns this time and was very impressed. Wouldn't mind a change from the standard "Spanish restaurant frozen desserts" menu, though.

I dined here and had the noodles and tried tofu for the first time and absolutely loved it!!!! This restaurant is lovely and is perfect for an express lunch or a leisurely evening out, give this gem a try and you wont be disappointed!!!!!! Thank you!!!!

I have been eating weekly at the Eastgate branch since it has first opened in 2003 and must say that everytime I have eaten there, it has been consistent. The food is excellent (best ever), service is superior and the price is fantastic. I cannot recommend it enough! Go and see for yourself - try the chicken nambali and lamb chops... how do they do it!

Once the best restaurant in Leeds by a mile... now distinctly average and absolutely SHOCKING service. Save yourselves a fortune and go elsewhere!!

The best Thai restaurant in Leeds. Do not entertain Thai Edge and similarly over-priced, over-rated places. This is simply the best, from the opulent decor to the seamless service to the amazing food and all very reasonably priced for what you get. The bigger hotel chains tend to advertise Thai Edge, do yourself a favour and seek out Chaophraya instead.
