Had a great time , the service was excellent , really nice polite staff. Food was really good , great value for money and very tasty ,highly recommend this place .

2nd visit here, both times service and food excellant, easily the best in cottingham, will def go on our next visit to the area, 5 star

There was four of us and the two of us that had main meals were really pleased and thought the food was lovely. The other two got tapas they said it was nice but for what you paid for you didn’t get enough. The price was very expensive for a tiny amount of food.

Had a lovely meal. One of the best burgers I have ever had, great quality. Good service and generous portions.

We had a lovely meal. Lemon chicken and a chicken curry. Both absolutely delicious. It was a hot day but quite cool inside. The staff were lovely, service was good and even had a chat with our waitress. A lovely early evening out to celebrate 60 years to the day of our first meeting.

Took my granddaughter here for a mid afternoon lunch for her 21st birthday. We have been here lots of times, and always enjoyed the food. However, on this occasion it fell short, both on service and food . There were 4 of us, it was prebooked, and when we went in it was empty. So there shoulve been no excuses for poor service. When the food came, we were surprised to find that the menu offering 'chunky chips' turned out to be the usual frozen mcdonalds type chips. They missed out the extra onion rings, and chips from two of the orders, we had to ask for them. The meal of scampi n chips was really meagre. Looked more like chicken nuggets than scampi. The bread on the fish finger sandwich was dry. In my opinion, it seemed to me that they couldnt be bothered to put the effort in. For a bill of £90, it was very disappointing. Needless to say, we wont be going back anymore. Customers deserve better, and there are far better eateries out there.

Visited Sat eve for food and drinks. Online booking hadnt gone through but luckily they had a table. Food was ok. Good portions and chunky chips were definitely the highlight. Would say prices were on the higher end for the quality of food. Stayed for thr band after our food who were brilliant and definitely made the night. Staff were friendly and checked in to make sure all was ok.

Lovely service and good. Good value for money

Got the chicken burger and the chicken was very dry and chewy. We were given a pudding menu which stated if you buy a pudding you get a hot drink for £2 however they charged us full price. When I questioned it they said thats for lunch only however it didnt state this on the menu so they did honor it. They even forgot to give us the drink and we had to ask for it.

Service was brilliant but we thought the food was terrible. We made our excuses that we were just too tired and that’s why we had left a lot because we felt bad to say how awful it was. The burger had a weird taste and the beef in the stroganoff was not good quality. We will not be back now which is a shame as you are on our doorstep.

Hi all.. I booked a table for my wife's birthday and guest on Sat 16th May 26. Very pleased with the communication sorting menu's and pricing etc ( via phone & emails) with the run up to the date Sat 16th May 25.. Food was excellent (comments of all guest). Service on the night was spot on. Wouldn't hesitate to re-book. Thanks to Holly and all the staff for a very nice experience . Regards. Richard.

Four of us came for lunch on Thursday and quite honestly were disappointed. We were quite a while waiting to be served. One of our party ordered a steak and ale pie which turned out to be a vegetarian one. Another dish was luke warm. We felt as though the helpings were small. I had scampi and chips which were OK but the salad consisted mainly of leaves with tomato on top. It was very quiet so not a brilliant atmosphere. Also when we left I noticed the long seat we had been sitting on was quite badly stained. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We all felt the restaurant wasn't as good as the last time we came a few months ago. We shan't be coming again which is a shame.

Booked a table for 2 online and indicated that my daughter is gluten free. When we arrived we were shown to our table by a lovely young lady called Lara. Lara had taken onboard the gluten free request. Discussed it with the Chef and produced a hand written menu for my daughter to choose from. Really, really impressed. They couldn't have done more for us. The food was beautifully presented, tasty and hot. Would highly recommend Cassiels.

Visited last Friday & ordered 6 tapas dishes a side of potato’s & a portion of rice. After a considerable time had elapsed the waitress was shocked we hadn’t received our food & went to check. Unfortunately our order was missed & the waitress apologised for the long wait & gave us a drink on the house. Not a problem at this point. After a further long wait the food finally came out & we had been given chips instead of the rice. The waitress went to the kitchen to get the rice. We started the tapas & not one of the 6 dishes were hot. The waitress returned with the rice & asked how our food was to which my wife asked to see the manager. When we told her the food was cold her answer was well you have eaten it. What wasn’t in the dishes was actually still on our plates. She went away & came back saying the food was hot as the chef had probed it prior to it leaving the kitchen, so now clearly we are being called liars which we take exception too. She then offers us 50% discount. At this point we refuse to pay 50% for food we were not eating. After a lot of discussion, we are adamant we will only pay for the 2 drinks we have had she went off to speak to the owners & came back accepting the £15.10 for the drinks which we did and left. If it hadn’t of been for the dismissal that the food was hot & no actual offer of correcting it then the night could have been salvaged but instead we were left to go elsewhere for food & deciding we will never go back which is a shame as we have had good experience before to which I have left positive feedback. We had booked the table with the expectation of watching the live act which obviously was cut short. It was the handling of the complaint not the actual cold food that caused the issue

Lovely place, great vibe. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Speedy service. Great food. Would highly recommend. No negatives.

Staff polite and appropriate. Service was quick. We both had pizza which was really nice and fresh. Slight error with extra toppings but soon sorted. Will visit again.
