Sleepers Bar – HullMaybe I am biased living in Darton but I have eaten Asian food in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan, but this place for me beats them all. Whatever you want, Imran will do. Brilliant! Send me the £5 Zaff and by the way Azzar says your not 27 but 43. I don't care, keep the food the same we'll still keep coming. Julian
Royal Spice, The – BarnsleyHad lunch at Sandbar. Friendly service and extremely pleasant Thai style chicken with a good salad. Very reasonably priced and a welcoming atmosphere. Only problem I could see was when a family came in to eat they were told they only allow children on the two tables in the window and in no other part! Despite the good food that rules me (and the family) out as potential regulars.
Sandbar – HorsforthTook the family here for lunch today, and it was ok. The manager was on hand and was extremely friendly and helpful. The decor was good and the place clean. The food itself was more mixed. We had tortillas, gambas and piri piri as starters to share for £12 and all were ok, with the gambas being the pick of the lot. For mains we had chicken enchilladas that seemed a bit dry/stale, ximxin which was ok but nowhere near as flavoursome as it's billing and a chilli con carne which was very good. It served a purpose for us today and wasn't bad but its not somewhere we'll be rushing back to.
Las Iguanas – Leeds City CentreAfter driving past this bistro many times we decided to try it as the exterior is very impressive. We have never been so disappointed! The limited menu seemed to boast high quality dishes at matching prices. This was not the case. Most of the food was frozen, chunky chips etc. We ordered a mixed starter with vegetable tempura, It consisted of frozen wedges, 3 samosas, 2 spring rolls and a bit of salad with dips for £9.50!!! NO TEMPURA, apparently they had run out, of what, I don't know? Vegetables and a bit of batter?? Oh Sorry it can't have been fresh, they must have been all out of frozen tempura at the cash and carry! My son's grilled chicken was so dry and overcooked that he was still chewing it when we got home. The rice we were brought was, frankly, disgusting (half raw and half mush). All in all this eating experience would probably have been inevitable in a food pub chain but certainly not representative of the image and pricing of this particular restaurant.
Wappy Spring Inn, The – HuddersfieldWe have been trying to track down the chef originally from The Blue Bicycle for quite some time and last week we found him, the new owner of Ate O'Clock. We had a wonderful evening helped by the fact that the staff were extremely friendly and efficient, the atmosphere was great and the food fantastic. The owner/chef is extremely attentive and helps to make you feel very special. Go and have a look...The best chef in York!! In our opinion the best chef in York...Go and have a look...
Ate O Clock – Yorkdreadful do not eat in this have no idea how to cook food
Stag Hotel, The – SheffieldWe have eaten here many times and it is absolutely fantastic. We have never had a poor meal or bad service. The staff are attentive, without being overbearing, and the ambience is excellent. You will have to book in advance for a weekend table - once you have been you will know why. A truly excellent dining experience.
Papa Ciccio Restaurant – SheffieldI am fortunate enough to travel extensively around the world, but coming home is always a pleasure and gilded by a meal at the Moorland Lodge. The food is a treat, always fresh, with those English ingredients that ignorantly get derided in certain quarters. The ambiance and homely feeling of the restaurant are such, that it is almost as pleasant experience as the food itself, expertly managed,as are the attentive young staff,by the owner herself,Mary. Get to the top of the Peninnes and indulge yourself in the very best of English food. Dave Collick (Dec.2007)
Moorland Lodge Restaurant – HuddersfieldIt does the best pizzas i've tasted anywhere that I remember. Its also good value for what you get which is often a huge pizza with many toppings served fresh. I too highly recommend Prago to anyone who appreciates good fresh food.
Prego Pizzeria – WakefieldNot been to the mustard pot in years, met an old friend the other day and wow what a transformation, not only are the bad old days of a troubled venue gone, but the place looks swish and serves great food especially the sunday lunch! glad I went back in
Mustard Pot – Chapel Allertonwe just had our office Christmas dinner at the potting shed and thought it was wonderful. Such a beautiful place next to the stream at night, amazingly large Christmas tree, apparently from the field behind the Potting shed as there is a garden centre/nursery opposite. Great food, lovely service and nice selection of wine! We thank you very much.
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyI thought I must write a review on the potting shed after a wonderful evening we had for our office outing Christmas do. Were we a table of 18 so quite a few of us, having organised this for the office this year and often had problems I was delighted with the speed, and quality of the food and service. It was a pleasure to be there and enjoy the evening so much, thank you to Kate Horsfield and all her staff, we'll be back next year.
Rileys at the Potting Shed – BarnsleyI was looking forward to eating here after hearing positive reviews. Due to circumstances I had to cancel our reservation for two people. My second attempt to call I got through to Phil, who I believe is the owner. I mentioned I had already tried calling as I wanted to give as much notice that we would not be attending. Phil said he had answered the phone since 8am that day and that I can't have tried calling. We then said good bye and Phil thought I had hung up and went on to say 'My name - I answer the phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week you F**king Sl*g.' Upset and disgusted I called back and Phil completely denied what he said, and informed me he was 'talking to his mates in his car about last night.' And a Happy Christmas to you to Phil.
The Foundry – Leeds City CentreBoil in the bag food i thought times had moved on
Green Tree Brewers Fayre – DoncasterGreat place to go if you fancy a bit of everything and don't just want one thing to eat. The food is fantastic very friendly staff, perfect for a all you can eat menu, would recommend to all to at least try it once and see what you think you never know you may enjoy it and make it a regular thing like some do.
