Thai Jantra – WetherbyI was taken for the first time by my godmother and i instantly fell in love with it! It became my absolute favourite restaurant! I've introduced it to all my friends and i go almost every time i go to leeds. The food is amazing and such good value for money!!!
Maxis – Leeds City CentreI'm Chinese therefore a little difficult to impress I suppose. Went for the MAXI'S EXPRESS (in the LIGHT, Headrow) Sunday £8 buffet. Food was not bad. Staff were attentive, generally polite & quick to serve. Decor & ambience was OK. Not really where you'd go for an intimate date as most tables seated 4 or more therefore ideal for a bunch of mates. Good price for the spread. I'd go back!
Maxis – Leeds City CentreHaving been to Thailand myself, I am usually very critical of the 'Thai Food' served in England, but this place is about as authentic as it gets. Not only is the food outstanding, the service is just as exquisite as it is in the land of smiles! Reasonably priced too.
Sukhothai Restaurant – Chapel Allerton – Chapel AllertonIf your looking for a relaxing meal in Harrogate, this place is a must! I go regulary, and i'm very hard to please!
Phoenix – HarrogateVery Good home cooked food. Nice idea to be BYO wine and beer. Try the starters, as a main course is a great idea.
Corner Cafe – Leeds City CentreAbsolutely one of the best restaurants, just on the outskirts of Leeds, Certainly my favorite, for the simple reason that on every occasion I have dined here, the whole experience has been superb and completely faultless. Very much cosmopolitan in style, the food is sublime, and the service impeccable. In fact, the waiting staff, most of whom are generally quite young, are not only a credit to the restaurant, but also to their generation - one which is sadly so often out of its depth in this field. I would definitely recommend the it if you are like me an avid wine lover as there wins and drinks list hold some of the best wines available in the world. I am confident you will not be disappointed. Some people may feel the menu is lacking slightly with only 10 or so main courses but they are all freshly prepared and changed every month, which is what I would prefer any way, but this is one restaurant where you certainly get more than you pay for, and represents outstanding value for money. Remember to book early
The stroom restaurant and function rooms – PudseySunday lunch is blissful and extremely enjoyable. The food is divine and there is an excellent selection of wines which compliment the food. A must!
Haley’s Hotel and Restaurant – Headingley9/10 initially entered with trepidation due to unremarkable exterior. My fears were soon dispelled when the Spanish waitress brought over an assortment of tapas delights. Ludicrously cheap with Havana Club and Crystal on tap, the atmosphere is electric and compliments the food perfectly. It successfully recreates a modern Havana 'paladare' whilst conforming to EU regulations and being free from the US induced rationing of Castro's Cuba. The Lamb and cod cakes are superb. Crazy booking system (there isn't one!)
Viva Cuba – Leeds City CentreVery friendly staff lively always busy around lunch time a wonderful night atmosphere very handy for something to eat after a long days shopping over all outstanding
The New Conservatory – Leeds City CentreOh my god, I love this restaurant. The service is outstanding, the food is beautiful (I especially love the vegetable spring rolls and the green tea ice cream) and the decor is excellent. You are made to feel extremely comfortable from the minute you walk in. I live a good way away from Leeds but it? definitely worth the trip. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to try Japanese cuisine!
Little Tokyo – Leeds City CentreWe have been going to this restaurant since it was La Copella and have always loved the food. Since refurbishment the food is as good, but it tends to get very busy and sometimes you have quite a wait to get seated (even if you have booked).
Cafe Marinetti – HorsforthTucked away on a side street near the infamous Mojo, Sandinista is definitely in the top two of my favourite venues in Leeds (the other being the aforementioned Mojo). The Central American inspired bar offers a relaxed atmosphere in which to sample the extensive menu of home cooked food (best described as a fusion of traditional English and Latin inspired dishes) or enjoy the impressive drinks list. With a distinctly revolutionary feel Sandinista is a unique concept in a city that is being over-run with corporate chain bars/restaurants and the fact that they don't conform to this benchmark is what makes the place so loveable. Famed for its Sunday Recovery Kit (board games, Sunday papers, Bloody Marys and a Sunday menu to die for - from Eggs Florentine to Sunday roast) Sandinista? bartenders are among the friendliest I have come across. Also a great pioneer for local talent, Sandinista regularly play host to up and coming bands and DJs and have an impressive music collection featuring the most influential of sounds from the history of music. Definitely worth a visit!
Sandinista – Leeds City CentreThis place was recommended to me by a Chinese friend - always a good way of judging a Chinese restaurant. The food is excellent and the place is decorated beautifully.
Maxis – Leeds City CentreI attended a wedding here and stayed overnight. Everything was fantastic. The only downfall is that I was going to book my wedding her but they are not too keen on a lot of children attending, which is inconvenient since there are 50 nieces and nephews in our family.
Corn Mill Lodge Hotel and Restaurant – HorsforthFood is delicious but service is VERY slow.
Cafe Rouge – Leeds City CentreAbsolutely one of the best restaurants in Harrogate. Certainly my favourite, for the simple reason that on every occasion I have dined here, the whole experience has been superb and completely faultless. Very much a cosmopolitan Italian restaurant in style, the food is sublime, and the service impeccable. In fact, the waiting staff, most of whom are generally quite young, are not only a credit to the restaurant, but also to their generation - one which is sadly so often out of its depth in this field. I would definitely recommend the scallops, followed by the beef fillet - cooked blue if you're man enough, finishing with the semi fredo. My wife however opts for the mozzarella, and the risotto, but whatever you order, I am confident you will not be disappointed. Some people may feel the menu is quite expensive, but this is one restaurant where you certainly get more than you pay for, and represents outstanding value for money. Remember to book early.
Sasso – HarrogateFamily owned traditional Italian restaurant, slightly away from the town centre but still only a worthwhile five minute walk. Very good pasta and pizzas. Good, relaxed atmosphere. Well worth a visit.
