Won't be going back the manager was rude, service was awful with drinks not brought when ordered and having to ask again. Food missed off when food brought to table. 1 meal completely missed and when we made staff aware they asked if she still wanted it. The 2 metre rule wasn't stuck too, to get to our table we had to squeeze by someone sat at another table. This other table was of 2 households another no no. A group of 4 were walking round the pub with no masks on and the staff stood talking to them.

Service and food were amazing. The manager Karl was attentive to every. Food hot, good portion size and nicely presented. Sadly for the cedars it was so quiet.

Early evening meal on Saturday 26th September. Bar staff and waitress were good. Food was ok - we had the 2 rump steaks 'deal'. Not much of an atmosphere , but that's understandable at the moment.

Good food, good table service and safe and properly done Covid precautions. The steaks were served quickly and well cooked. Will definitely return.

Have been here twice recently and it is the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food is amazing and such a cosy relaxed atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and always make you feel welcome. I will definitely be going back.

I had a very enjoyable evening at The Cedars and as always the food and levels of customer service was very good.

Great safe venue with great food and service!! This was our forth visit to the Lancaster, the previous nights have all been brilliant. I am please to say this visit was equally as good. It is a place where you feel really welcome and above all you feel totally safe. The food is exceptional as agreed by everyone in our foursome. We will be back!

The service was very poor you get you food but then you was waiting 15 to 20 minutes for your side dishes by then the food was cold. You are waiting 20 to 30 minutes for drinks because of no staff I was very disappointed

Once greeted we were told how the new Covid system works now and seated at our table. We had to figure out how to order food from the app which again wasn’t obvious which app. Staff were efficient and food came quite quickly, it wasn’t that busy in there though. Staff could have been more friendly and helping us ease in but Covid rules had changed again 2 days previous so maybe they were settling into that too. Food was good, salmon was small, steak was ordered rare purposely as it’s always overcooked at the cedars. It arrived medium rare which is what I actually wanted. Fajitas were good. Good value for money. A nice local easy place to eat relatively good food.

We are regular customers. The food is not Michelin standard but it is very good and certainly brings us back for more. Combined with the cheerful and efficient service in a pleasant ambiance we consider it all round good value. The restaurant is coping very well an safely with the Covid restrictions.

I booked the table online. On arrival, we were greeted by The Manager who was extremely helpful, checked our details and showed us to our table. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. Great value for money and plenty of space for social distancing etc. I would recommend this venue to anyone

We came for lunch, the first time here since Covid. They handled it all very well, we felt quite safe and had a nice seat overlooking the fishpond. The service, quality of food and general atmosphere of the pub were all good. Well done.

3 out of 4 meals were ok. 4th meal was like something from An Iceland freezer. Soggy curly fries no meat on ribs just gristle and when mentioned was practically dismissed. Not great

Popped in once for a recommended drink. Ian, the owner specifically introduced himself having heard we’d come on a recommendation and sold the Sunday VIP sharing platter so well, we booked for lunch with friends. We weren’t disappointed. I shouldn’t have had a starter though as the roast was plentiful - anyone saying otherwise is plain greedy. The meat quality was so superb we asked from where he sourced it, and the wine list had previously caught our eye anyway - there’s just no excuse for pubs / restaurants to serve rubbish wine, and Ian serves great wine without ridiculous mark-ups. So you get great service with a smile, great tasting, plentiful food which therefore means the price is good value, and if you like finer wines, you’re not robbed! What’s not to love! And to top it all, there’s great indoor and outdoor spaces with safe layouts! Awesome !
