could not make sunday lunch so had a take away, it was superb.

I came on Sat eve at 5:00pm as a party of 6 (3 of whom had travelled over 100 miles), for an evening meal. We were shown to a table for 6 in an area away from the other diners. Towards the end of our meal a large family group arrived and were seated at the 3 tables surrounding ours. From this point onwards we were unable to have any kind of conversation at all because of the noise around us. We left. We've had excellent meals here before, but lessons need to be learnt from this sad experience.

This was our first time visiting and it won't be our last. We both had the beef Sunday lunch - wow! The beef was so soft and the roast potatoes were the best that I've ever had. The only slight criticism was that we would've liked a bit more gravy. We didn't have room for dessert, so next time we may opt for the smaller portion. We thought that it was very good value for money.

First class mead as usual. Love this place and have visited occasionally for a few years. Great service, love the idea that it is father and son business. ( remember when Dad was the waiter)

I came for lunch with a friend . The staff were so helpful and kind (I am disabled and my friend had her baby with her. ).The service and food were excellent. We were not rushed ,but someone came every now and again to check if we needed anything. After the meal we sat in the garden with coffees. A really lovely setting . I shall return.

The service in this place is fantastic. The food quality is beyond words. I also found this is one of the best rump steaks I’ve ever had and it was absolutely huge. I feel like I’ve got my moneys worth.

Had a lovely relaxed Sunday lunch here. It's in a fab spot and the service was friendly, speedy and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely visit again.

Visited on Monday…. As usual the customer service was fantastic, friendly and accommodating! Food it good quality/ great value too! Sat in the sunshine out in the garden and had a wonderful afternoon with family.

Haven't been to the Dove since under new management. Staff were attentive, friendly and professional. The food was amazing, 6 meals and no one had any criticism whatsoever. Will definitely be back.

The food was very good and service also good. However, I had asked for (and I quote) 'Please could we have a table close to back doors as one of our party is disabled and cannot walk far. I can only imagine that your system has AI as it only picked up the word disabled from my request. We had been allocated a table the far side of the room near the disabled toilet. After some discussion we got a table near the door, but your system needs to be a little more flexible. Also I was told on the phone that they were still doing their usual Sunday roast menu. This was not the case and we were forced to pay for a minimum of 2 courses when we only wanted a roast. Not everyone had a big appetite, so maybe bear this in mind for the future.

I've been to The Dove so many times and every time I've had an amazing experience! We went for a Mother's Day brunch yesterday and it was absolutely lovely. The food was wonderful, the service was fab and they brought out a complimentary glass of Proscecco for my mum which was such a great touch.

Had a great meal and drinks with my friend great service would definitely recommend this place.
