Fantastic food and service
La Porte Des Indes – MaryleboneTwo friends and I were wandering about the area looking for somewhere to eat when we spotted the Aladdin and thought it looked good. Lots of the other restaurants had staff outside hustle-ing for custom whilst the Aladdin did not and was busy inside regardless. A good sign for sure. We were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere convivial. The food was fantastic and although it did take a little while to be served the wait between courses added to the experience as each dish was so good. The poppadom and chutney to start with were of generous proportions and the dishes that followed were all so tasty. I had chicken and mango and it was delicious. I'm going back ASAP and can't wait!
Aladdin – East LondonThe food delicious, the service excellent, the comfy seats were great. A great place to have lunch after shopping down the hectic Oxford street and relax for a few hours
Joury Mayfair – MayfairGood food from a small but well chosen menu, reasonable price and lovely ambience, occasionally let down by patchy service. House wines are both very nice and excellent value. We have eaten at the Union several times and will go back again.
Union Cafe – MaryleboneExcellent the food is not the same as other Thai restaurants you must try if you like hot and spicy authentic Thai food
101 Thai Kitchen – HammersmithGreat value for money. Fab atmosphere large portions. Good old fashioned cooking
Cafe Espana – SohoWe went to Orsini ristorante recommended by some Italian friends, and that was good choice!! The food is excellent, simple and very tasty. The manager Ciro is very friendly and also a good chef. They also have very good selection of wine and delicious homemade "dessert", (try la caprese) yummy, Espresso to finish, was one of the best I we have tried in London A part of that was full of Italians which is always a good sign. The only problem is difficult to find it, but it is just opposite of V&A South Kensington. Definitely worth trying.
Orsini – KensingtonAfter being a good customer of Ali? for the past 3 years I can safely say that Ali? is the best curry restaurant in London. Having tried brick lane, Ali? is a breathe of fresh air. Ali? passion for his cooking comes through in the taste of the food. I always leave wanting more and for me this is the most important quality of an outstanding restaurant.
Spices – IslingtonReally good Thai food. Try Nr 42
101 Thai Kitchen – HammersmithI've had two great nights out recently - one with all my mates and one with my girlfriend. The atmosphere and service was fantastic on both occasions. The ribs were delicious and my girlfriend loved the cob salad (there was a lot more choice than I? expected). There's loads of events at the moment for their 35th birthday - so I?l definitely head back soon!
Hard Rock Cafe – MayfairGreat Tapas, nice wine and it's not expensive for a Central London restaurant...
El Pirata Of Mayfair – MayfairI celebrated my birthday in style at Hard Rock! We started the evening with their legendary margarita?, followed by a delicious meal which ended with Philadelphia cheesecake. The staff were amazing and even sang Happy Birthday to me. The music and the general vibe was really fun and lively.
Hard Rock Cafe – MayfairBellamys is well worth trying the food is of excellent quality and the staff are attentive
Bellamys Of Bruton Place – MayfairThis is a noisy, bustling, modern-cafe-style eatery with a large menu of Greek food. There are loads of starters, of which you can easily make a meal, plus generous-sized main courses featuring Greek ingredients. Most items come with excellent pitta bread, hot and seasoned. The hellenic burgers with a yoghurt and tomato sauce were a delight, and after marinated olives and spinach and cheese pie, took some eating power. But don't expect a relaxed, romantic evening here. The service (12% added to your bill) is ultra-fast, and our main courses arrived before we had finished our starters. I saw this happen to other tables, too, so I guess you have to treat this as superior fast food place - probably the best in the area. I'll be back for a quick lunch soon.
As Greek As It Gets – KensingtonI have never stuffed my fat face so much in my life. Absolute quality kebab. Something to tell my grandchildren.
Baran – North LondonSimply the best steaks in London!
Gaucho Restaurant – DocklandsThis chic gastro- pub is a new breed of city slicker, retro - cool, eclectic pubs close to Great Portland Street Station. Terribly packed by word of mouth 30ty something? still hanging on to the tentacles of their grungy youth it? surprisingly "chilled". Prices are pricey but the quality of the food and drink redeem the mark up. I would recommend this pub to that city flash who is in need of a place to accentuate that he is still hipper than Austin Powers and more metro sexual than his balding barnet and musing plastic glasses.
Albany, The – FitzroviaI had a lovely plate of stew served up by Mum; I actually dined in one of the upstairs woodchip rooms after taking a bath in the old tin. Don't ask for a seat at the crack table as you are likely to get a clip round the ear for your cheek!
