We treated a couple of friends from America to afternoon tea at Lilibets and it is fair to say that they will be going home with a lot of praise for their “high tea” at Lytham’s stately home! Eat your heart out Downton! Everything was perfect - thank you.
Lilibet’s Afternoon Tea Emporium at Lytham Hall – LythamRe:- Little Thornton W.I. visit on the 24th September. All the ladies agreed what lovely day they had visiting the Hall and Afternoon Tea. The Afternoon Tea was scrumptious, with plenty of food, and the staff very helpful were friendly. The Volunteers in the Hall were very knowledgeable and informative about the history of the Hall. The garden looked lovely. (p.s. unfortunately some ladies got bitten walking around the garden). it was well worth a visit and some ladies are planning another visit.

The Sunday lunch afternoon tea was lovely just as advertised. We were really spoiled by Simon, who was so attentive to our every need and was happy to take photos too. The food was great and unlike some previous reviewers we thought the scones were really light and tasted delicious. Our dietry needs were catered for and the sweets and cakes were superb. Highly recommended and we will be returning, not only for family celebrations, but to participate in a delightful experience.

The Afternoon Tea offering was good, we had to take away some of the sweet treats as we were stuffed. Plenty of tea and coffee refills. The warm scones were tasty. Looking forward next time we visit to trying the Sunday version. Well worth the price and would definitely recommend. We'll be back.

Simon welcomed us warmly to the library for our afternoon tea and was unobtrusively attentive throughout our visit. The food was excellent and the coffee and tea limitless. Brilliant service, copious cups of tea, beautifully presented food. As always with afternoon tea, I found it too heavy on the sweet stuff, but it was a change to have small trifles and posset. The only disappointment was the scones. We all agreed that they were stodgy and we collectively awarded them very low score (we had 2 sconnoisseurs in our group) The scones and the clotted cream in a jar (that was a bit watery) spoilt an otherwise superb experience. We may try the Sunday afternoon tea as that sounds more interesting - although I think we'd avoid the scones.

We all said how attentive the servers were, nothing was too much trouble and we had constant refills of tea and coffee. The food was lovely and the tables were set out beautifully for us. Everyone loved it! The only reason I have marked down the food is because I preferred the sandwich choices we had previously when I last visited.
