Food was great, as it always is. Service was great, the staff are very friendly. This is our restaurant of choice when we visit Manchester. I just wish the restaurant wasn’t so hot

I have been to Gios twice now and I would highly recommend it! My family and I went for my Mum's birthday, in which they were more than happy to bring out her cake at the end of the meal, dimming the lights in the restaurant and singing happy birthday. Lovely service by all and of course the food is amazing.

Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic food and fantastic, friendly service. Our first time here and won't be out last - thanks to Giorgios for a great night out.

Having dined at a variety of restaurants, including the overrated San Carlo, I can honestly say the service, quality of food, and pleasantness of staff left the rest light years behind. Definitely worth a visit.

We visit the Bridgewater Hall around 6 times per year and tend to combine it with a pre-concert meal at Gios. Yesterday we got stuck in motorway traffic, causing us to expect to be 45 mins late. We rang ahead, were assured that we were Ok for a table - and actually arrived 50+ mins late, Despite being full and extremely busy, table was available within 5 minutes ( a bottle of wine was immediately available!), and service of food was superb as they knew of the time of the concert. Customer service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food quality was excellent. I would recommend that you book in advance and have the contact number available if needed.

Had an excellent meal served by excellent polite staff . Lovely well presented food with a great choice on the menu. Not rushed to leave as we were out for an evening meal with no plans to move on

Great South African food (50% off mains when we were there, Wednesday) great service, great atmosphere, great cocktails (two for one), rounded off with a fantastic price, I'll be back.

Sadly we were disappointed on this occassion. Pre theatre lunch before the matinee performance of Hamilton. There didnt appear to be enough staff, very busy so we waited a while to place our order. We ordered steak and dessert from the pŕe theatre lunch menu and some garlic bread to start. It was quite a while before the steak arrived, along with the garlic bread. The steak was tasteless and very tough. We had to forgo the desserts and possible coffee as we ran out of time and needed to get to the theatre. They deducted the price of two soft drinks from the bill, not much compensation but no time to argue our cause so left it at that but very disappointed.

Great food served perfectly in a nice relaxed setting by a fantastic waitress. Nothing was too much trouble.

Always a nice venue to visit early evening while in Manchester for work. A good menu choice and relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely food that is both tasty and adventurous! Service was some of the most friendly I’ve experienced + great atmosphere + very affordable! (Especially on Tuesdays). If you have yet to try South African food, this is the place to start.

This was mine and my friend’s first visit to Rio where we received a very warm and extremely friendly welcome. We we seated promptly with the menu and wine list presented to us immediately. The menu is very extensive and offers a wide variety, with something for everyone. We ordered our first and mains which were both wa served promptly. The food which consisted of bruschetta, seafood linguine and sea bass was presented very well and absolutely delicious. The wine which was Vino Verde was equally as good. Such a warm and relaxing experience. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and will definitely revisit when I next visit Manchester. Want to say a special thank you to Andrea who was very helpful, friendly, informative and made us feel very welcome.
