Amazing place. Away from the trendy small plate Indian restaurants of the city centre. A truly amazing traditional Indian.

Amazing place. Away from the trendy small plate Indian restaurants of the city centre. A truly amazing traditional Indian.
Arnero – Manchester City CentreVery poor meal. Difficult to see how a basic pizza could taste so bad. Starter was little better. Desperately over-priced. Rushed throughout the meal -presumably to cram in other diners. Charged extra for service which I disliked.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreArrived 6pm for pre theatre dinner and main course was served at 710pm.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreAwesome vibe which is so authentic as South African house music is played in the restaurant. The food is on point as well as the hospitality of the staff, it was so nostalgic being South African myself, I really appreciated a piece of home being available in the UK even down to the drinks there's lots of South African drinks available on the menu. Definitely a spot I'll be back at!
Chakalaka – Manchester City Centre10/10
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreWe opted for the pre theatre set price menu as we were going onto the theatre we often eat out so it was wonderful to be surprised the set meal is true value for money and the food was very good the staff could not be more accommodating and the atmosphere was buzzing and the host jovial attitude was infectious we will be going again on our next visit to Manchester
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreWas in Manchester for a conference and booked a table for a Tuesday evening. Restaurant was busy but the service and food were first class. If I am ever in Manchester again I will definitely be back.
Arnero – Manchester City CentreWe had a brilliant time at ChakaLaka - the food was amazing and the staff were really lovely. We’ll be back!
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreIt was my husband's birthday and it occurred to me that we'd never had South African food before, so I booked us into Chakalaka, a petit et bijou Boer cantina. The decor is bright and colourful and the staff were friendly and helpful. We chose a variety of small plates and sides. I had the chicken skewers with chips, pap, and mushrooms and spinach. My husband had the chicken bunny chow with Biltong to start. My own starter was a sort of cheese toastie with a kind of spicy bean slaw. Washed down with water and two happy hour cocktails, it was delicious. We finished with a shared Malva pudding and the Boer answer to Baileys. This absolute feast came to the sum of £59.50, which was a bargain considering the amount of food and the quality of it. We will certainly return and are already telling our friends about it.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreI visited the restaurant with two friends on Saturday 18th March. There was no problem with the standard of food or waiter service, but the tedious process employed to pay the bill nearly made us late for the concert. I should also add that I dislike being charged extra for service - the menu price should reflect the true costs of providing the meal. I shall consider these factors with care before booking in future
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreBrilliant atmosphere and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was authentic, just feel like the bunny chow could have been a bigger portion, but tasted great.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreWe stayed locally for a work event and choose Gio's for dinner. It was a lovely experience from walking in the door to walking out couldn't fault a thing, yes the food is amazing but it was so much more than just a dinner! Also lovely to meet the owner doing what obviously comes natural to him working the floor and being very attentive and charming. Highly recommend
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreIt's a very nice restaurant with a good food and atmosphere, I recomand for everyone!!
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWe were strongly recommended this restaurant by a foody expert friend so If went with high expectations! The food was so unique! Delicious rich flavours, deep sauces and flavoursome medleys. The staff were attentive and provided really good recommendations - fear not if you aren't au faut with Armenian cuisine! There's a sweet, slightly 80's vibe about the basement decor, like travelling back into less spoilt bygone era Wholeheartedly recommend. I've been back twice now, even though we live very far away and we'll recommend to any Southerners traveling 'up North!'
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreLovely staff, tasty food and service was really good.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreHad a lovely meal tradition SA food lovely atmosphere and was like being back at home. Highly recommend.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreGreat dining experience..wonderful friendly welcome front of house. Drinks served within 2 minutes of being seated . Food order taken after 5 minutes of being seated . Food arrived promptly and piping hot just how I like pasta. Tasted delicious. Great attentive service.Value for money and no presumptuous service charge so gave cash tip. Definitely would recommend..ideal pre- gig or pre-show restaurant.
Giorgios – Manchester City CentreOne of the best restaurants I have visited in a while, everything about the place was perfect. The layout, the vibe, one of the best customer services I have ever received. Quick service with food being handled with care, wide varieties to choose from I wanted to get everything. 100% will be going again and a massive shout out to lovely waitress that served us she deserves a massive pay rise!! :)
