Service was disgusting person waiting on are table didn’t listen to are order and was wrong from mains to desserts Huff and puff at the the table as if she couldn’t be arsed to be there and my I add she was a manager! Food sent back 2 when the desserts come out it got pushed across the tablet and the spoon was chucked at us ordered pancakes with no sauce and come with loads Used to come all the time but I definitely won’t be back!

We had a great meal with my mother and father in law. Great Steaks. Good service. Will come again when we are visiting from Ayrshire.

We came here for an early father's Day lunch. The food was sooo nice, especially the puddings. The service was lovely too.

I haven't used the Red Lion since 2019 as the service and quality had gone downhill. I was pleasantly surprised when we decided to visit on Saturday 12th June as the staff were friendly and extremely efficient, it was nice to be in a restaurant where you were made to feel important. My wife had fillet steak and said it was really nice and I had a selection of tapas which were goof value for money.

Ive always loved the Old Red Lion. You know where you stand. Decent food at a good price and you always leave full and satisfied. As long as you don’t go on a Sunday evening. The staff clearly didn’t want to be there, let alone forced to do table service! Not what I expected from my visit as I’ve always had better service there. I will return but not in a hurry.

Excellent food & service, highly recommended

Booked a table for six. Arrived on time and shown to table. It was extremely hot in the restaurant, to the point we were literally sweating. One couple asked to turn the radiators off but were informed that it wasn’t possible. They ended up moving and weee still hot. We were informed there was a slight wait for food. We were ok with that expecting just a small delay. We ordered out food about 7.45pm. My son was very disappointed to be told there were no burgers left and my husband informed there was no white wine and mushroom sauce left. After a quick look at the menu my son settled on lamb chops & chips. Whist waiting for food we had to keep attracting the bar staff/waitresses attention to get drinks as they were not very attentive. The food did not arrive until nearly 9.00pm! We did not order starters, only mains. Two of the steaks were chewy and my sons second choice of lamb chops was extremely disappointing. Hardly any meat on the chops and overcooked to the point of being overly chewy. At this point of the evening we were so hungry we just ate it, we’re literally sweating and very thirsty! The whole evening was an extremely disappointing affair,. My son who never says no to pudding did not want to stay and order one for the fear of being told that they had run out of that as well! We have eaten here many times before so we’re really looking forward to being able to celebrate my birthday there. I appreciate they have just opened up for business following lock down but I do feel that those who have prebooked should have been given priority over orders before walk-ins were. We always leave a tip, on this case we did not. I will visit Welham again at some point but not for a little while. Overall a very disappointing experience.

Disappointed My partner ordered medium steak and was very well done and really chewy only two members of staff and weren't around whilst eating meal they apologised when plates were collected certainly had better meals

As a new tradition to go to small village pubs after lockdown to support them this pub was the 1st and it’s going to be very very hard to beat. The waitress was lovely, the food was such value for money and the atmosphere was that of a proper village pub. It was busy but you don’t mind a small wait when you can see everyone is working to their maximum. This is our new favourite pub and I can’t wait to be able to bring my family here when lockdown relaxes more and we are allowed.

Very disappointed that super 6 menu was not available although it was advertised on the website. Food not quite as good as previous visits.

Came on Tuesday 3rd November as always friendly welcome . Service was table only but we wasn't waiting at all even though they were busy . Food excellent as always . See you in December.

Easy to book - no deposit required. Welcoming staff, clean clean tables and chairs, not too busy when I visited, prompt and courteous service, hot food served with a smile (hidden by a mask), on hot plates, of very good portions and absolutely delicious . And at a price that makes you wonder quite how they do it. I had lunch of stunning liver, bacon and onions with mash and peas - and didn't eat again until breakfast the following day. Satisfying desserts available at just £1 - and ALL calorie free (that's what Carol told me anyway!). What's not to like? What possible reason could there be not to revisit - or indeed drive a ten mile round trip to collect a takeaway if those become available over the coming weeks? Scores 11/10

Have always loved this place, however Friday night was not for us .had booked a table for 6, was given a table for 4, and told it will be a squeeze. Table backed onto another table, chairs were back to back, definately not social distanced. Everytime a memer of staff came over, they moved there mask down. Girl behind the bar everytime she served drinks, touched the tops of all the glasses. Starters came and the young lad just put them down and said “starters”.... no cutlery given. I didn’t feel there was any Covid secure measures in place.

Went for dinner with the mother in law and the mrs .I did say I would not go back after I went when the 50% deal was on .But I have to say what a turn around great food great service and even the manager was more himself .Thanks red lion keep it up ..
