Lovely Sunday lunch with friends. Was excellent, could do with stuffing being served with pork, but otherwise no complaints. Ran out of sticky toffee pudding and one crumble didn’t turn up . Waiting staff were great and knocked 10% of our bill. Would highly recommend and will be back soon. Views are wonderful and great ambience .

Warm, clean, bright environment. Attentive staff, great food, good sized portions, well priced. Would definitely recommend and will eat here again.

Our experience was really enjoyable, our food was so tasty and piping hot. The bar staff was really efficient and our children loved the outside areas to play. We will definatly be returning.

We had a table booked for 1.15pm for 6 . When we went to order we were told the chef was catching up with orders and could order in 20 mins , unfortunately it was 2pm before we could place our order which was totally unacceptable as we had an elderly man, an autistic lady and 2 children in the party. The food however when we did get it was very good. Needs to be better organised I think.

My wife and I brought my Mum here for Sunday lunch, the food was delicious and great portions, excellent value for money, the service was brilliant, all the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Lovely place to come and eat and enjoy a drink in beautiful surroundings. We will be coming back.

We loved the refurbished downstairs area, it has made it much more welcoming and a nicer place to be. Food we had was lovely and staff seemed very friendly. We would recommend and we will be back.

Looks lovely since the refurbishment, enjoyed our lunch ,I only had the prawn sandwich but the basket meals looked good ,well be back definitely. Oh and the service was good too nice chatty staff .

Not a lot of choice to the menu but disappointing & very small portions not very good value for money asked for table for 5 put on a table for 4 so one person isn’t he party was squashed on the end not much room & not so efficient staff

booked table upon arriving stated table booked at 18.30 got told no booking in my name, even had the screen shot of the booking. however we got a table. the waiter / server came across with the menu's and asked for drinks order gave him drinks order , a few minutes later to be told no Guinness , ok I will have a pint of bitter and a pint of bitter shandy for my partner , another person fetched the drinks which was a pint of Carlsberg and a pint of larger shandy explained to one of the waitresses that's not was ordered and she arranged to have them replaced , the original waiter / server returned asking for meal orders 1 roast beef dinner and one roast pork dinner to be told sorry no beef , ok will have pork, meal itself can't fault. asked for bill , when bill arrived the larger and lager shandy where still on the bill explained that's not what we had , the lady altered the bill and knocked one of the drinks off paid bill and left

We visited here on Sunday for lunch and we wasn't disappointed. Considering it was such a hot day, and it was very busy, the staff were working really hard to make sure everyone was happy. The food we had was all cooked lovely and was delicious. We will certainly pay you another visit when we are next holidaying in Morecambe - thank you x

Very enjoyable evening in the restaurant with my partner yesterday. Stunning views, very reasonably priced food and excellent service. We'll be back again when the full menu is available but the basket meals we had were excellent. The upgrade in the downstairs pub is fantastic and very classy. Only downside (hence the 2/5 score) was the way the upstairs restaurant bar is accessible to those from the currently very hot beer garden with queues developing next to our table. Don't suppose it will be too much of a problem when the weather cools, but not nice to have sweaty un-shirted men queuing next to me while I'm eating or young children playing chase through one restaurant door and out of the other.. Difficult problem to address without offending, but I'm sure the management will find a solution, and they way they are coping after such a short time since reopening is a credit to them all.

A truly iconic property, stunning art deco building and now a great hotel too. Awesome views over Morecambe Bay. loved the bar and the restaurant. regular attender of their many events

Since its refurbishment, The Royal Hotel in Heysham is a very nice place to visit for a meal and/or drink. The building has retained its character and has some comfortable and relaxing environments with an outdoor area which has heaters for when the chill sets in. The prices can be a little higher than normal for this type of pub, but for The Royal it is worth it for the comfort and relaxation we get as well as the standards of service generally. We have been in numerous occasions and overall it has been very good so we always look forward to our visits here.

Just ordered a takeaway the pros were; delivary was quick & driver was polite. Cons; crispy beef wasn't crispy sesame chicken was a massive disapointment. The toffee apple turned out as banna when I rang back twice the guy who took the order pretended to not hear me then answered, insisting I ordered banana not apple. I know what I ordered & charged us £21.20 needless to say first & last time I order from here the menu is now in the recycling bin.

Just looked back at a previous review we gave for the Golden Lion - wow how things have changed! We were fans until about 3 years ago when the food went rapidly downhill - the amount of MSG was leaving us all with terrible headaches, even when we asked for it to be omitted. We stopped getting our takeaways at the Golden Lion until last week, when we thought we might give it another go. Big mistake. As vegetarians we don't eat meat or fish so why did we get prawns in the 'vegetarian' noodle dish and pork in the 'vegetable' spring rolls? The rest of the food was too salty to eat. Awful - what a shame as it used to be such a great restaurant.

This is a lovely little restaurant, located by the promenade with great views over the bay. The food was delicious and freshly prepared. The icecreams are great and very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend this place.

Fantastic authentic greek food with a lovely atmosphere .Waiter very attentive and the owner Lazarus was very charming and made the effort to come and talk to us .All in all made it a very pleasant evening. Would reccomend it to all my friends.
