Visited 13/11/07 - Really disappointed with the food and the Black Sheep was flat. This lovely, friendly Inn used to be one of our favourite places to eat in and around Alnwick

Excellent service and quality of meal at an event catering for in excess of 100 people. Well worth a visit.

From microwave to table in an hour if your lucky. Wasted an hour of my life waiting for food but hey at least it has good a location over the lake. Typical mass chain style menu and presentation. But the kids love the play area so you win some you loose some would recommend going for food somewhere else then taking the kids and having a coffee while they play.

Since the new manager Scott Hughes took over in November 2006 the whole pub has changed. The atmosphere is great, the food is lovely and the service is fast and the staff are very welcoming. Children are allowed in and are made to feel special, they have got games and colouring books and pencils for them. Keep up the good work Scott as the other managers never had this pub as good as it is now.

verdi's served nice food, but there was no customers in at all even at 7pm, maybe a happy hour or a reduction of prices would attract more diners,

I visited the anglers arms on several occasions and find the food is very good, british home cooking, mince and dumplings, braised beef just like mum would make. The staff make the visit another reason to go, very friendly and always happy to help, more so the more you get to know them. Dont miss out visit this charming Inn.

A favourite indian restaurant of mine, the food is superb and reasonably priced and the staff are excellent. Open until midnight at weekends, Manzil's is superb for a late-night curry!

Very enjoyable restaurant and pub. They serve a range of food and the last time I was there I had a seafood dish which was very tasty. The best thing about this place is the nice atmosphere and ambience from the setting of this traditional old pub but with modern well formed food!

I had my wedding dinner at this restaurant just over a month ago. The quality of food was excellent, I found the staff very enthusiastic and the service was impeccable, it really did top off my special day. A big thanks to all the waiters and chefs for their hard work. I had a wonderful day and would be willing to pay the same again for that kind of service. Thanks again Christine Waterstone

White Swan The

The White Swan Is the best place for traditional food in morpeth. The quality is excellent the range of home-made food is very good and you are made to feel very very welcome even when it is really busy

Someone should buy the White Swan. Give it a revamp, slap a bit of paint around and generally spruce it up. But don? sack the chef. Give him some space and let him express himself. I had Gammon and Chips. Alright, not sophisticated, but the best gammon I?e ever had. Chunky, juicy and full of flavour. My partner ordered the mince and dumplings, again not sophisticated, but a real English classic nevertheless. I had some. Tasted great. If they spent some money on the place they might find that their sitting on a goldmine for quality, traditional food.

Have visited lots of times as the food is usually excellent. Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago was below par although in a dozen visits we have found nothing to complain about previously, a one off we hope. The signature dishes are excellent, some using locally sourced produce. The cost we think is on the pricey side, but well worth a visit.

Typical Brewers Fayre gastro pub. Food quality can vary, especially the Sunday lunches. Good views over the Queen Elizabeth II country park, play area for the kids (inside & out) and some outdoor tables.

A little out of the way, but worth a visit. Good menu selection and views over the Northumbrian countryside from the restaurant. Large bar and some outside seating area for al fresco dining. Friendly staff and a welcoming host.
