The pub it's self is really nice refurbished to a good standard however the dining area was very hot and no windows to open, the staff were pleasant but very young and inexperienced, we had a starter each which was quite nice, the main however was terrible we had calzone pizza the dough was too thick and chewy the inside had raw meatballs in it and the peperami was on top instead of inside and the tomato sause was cold I would have complained but no one asked how the meal was so we just paid and finished our drink outside although it was raining.

Stunning refurbishment of the Royal Oak. Surprised at the value of the food and the fish finger sandwich at lunchtime was delicious. Service was good and staff attentive. I’d say looking back at previous reviews there has definitely been an improvement. Will definitely be coming back

Went with 4 friends for an evening meal. The food was good The staff were friendly and efficient. However I do not agree with the policy of card payment only. Myself and most other people I have spoken to agree you should be able to pay with cash. This is also not made very clear with 1 sign by the bar and although it states card payment only on the bottom of the website, not everyone reads this before visiting so should this be clearly stated on the Menu ? Hopefully the owners will rethink this and change the policy

First time for a meal. Didn't realise it was different menu on a Sunday as doesn't mention this on the website. 2 ordered the fish and chips but disappointed when they were served with fries, not the same. Also had the Sunday lunch, nice but not very hot.

We rang to book our reservation, no one told us it was card only so when we got there & found out ,I did say no one said on the telephone, paige ( the manager I presume) had an attitude, said its all over the website , well I looked at the website , it's not all over as paige stated , there was no need to be rude , I wasn't rude when I asked ! It's not a very good welcome or example to set for your other members of staff , the food was good , shame about the management!! Paige let herself & her team down

We had an amazing experience. The food and atmosphere was great. The staff were very accommodating and made our birthday celebration a very pleasant one. I would highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed our meal the other night, we were visiting with two nine year olds so they were catered for excellently! Food was very good, reasonably priced and the twins found a good choice on their menu plus a small play park to keep them amused, plus crayons and paper at the table. We will definitely be coming back !

The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard. Been twice this week. Last night had a lovely round glass table in the conservatory by the patio doors. Staff so lovely. Service was good despite it being very full. Loved my food , prawn cocktail had lots of prawns, and the mushroom pasta was delicious. Will be going again very soon.

Made a last minute booking for an anniversary meal and decided to try The Royal Oak as we'd recently seen that it had re-opened. The refurbishment has been done to a high standard and the decor is very nice. We had a really lovely evening. The staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming, and the food was excellent. There's a good choice on the menu, the portions are a good size and prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be returning, and recommending to our friends.

Went for Lunch with friends The venue is beautifully appointed. Plenty of space Food was excellent and sensibly priced The staff were friendly, polite and efficient I am sure that we will be back soon
