I go hear at least 6 times a year! by far my favourite restaurant! I’m actually going back there tonight, and I am sure I will have a great time!

Always excellent food, best in the area. Place could do with a make over but it is clean and staff friendly.

One of the best and most consistently good food restaurants in the north been there since 1970 Mr Farouk set the scene and it has been maintained and exceeded right up to today others come and go but the lion is an institution I write this as I wait to book for 8 people, I must admit to being a little apprehensive about broadcasting the word in case I loose my table.

After our first visit to the Shorthorn Inn I had to go back a second time to check that it had been as good as it seemed, the staff were extremely attentative without been over bearing, the ambience was very warm and inviting and the three course meal we had was both reasonably priced and delicious. I would highly recommend for people to try the Shorthorn Inn for themselves.

First time ever been to the countryside the local folk where so intelligent and welcoming. Food and service great. We will definitely return! I loved it!! It was spot on!! Top notch!!

excellent staff, excellent service, reasonably priced, great ambience, very very well worth a visit. A three course meal for two only cost us £40.00. We will definitely be going again, and CERTAINLY be recommending this place to others.

I visited the Crosby after hearing it was under new ownership and I can honestly say the standards have considerably improved since. The welcome from the barman was fantastic - as was the service and the food. The Crosby is a very cosy and comfortable pub anyway, but the excellent friendly service makes it more so. The last management dropped the usual high standards of the Crosby which reflected in the food and service quality - therefore I stopped visiting. I am sure it is the same for many customers. I can truly recommend the Crosby the anyone thinking of visiting and promise you will enjoy your meal there! Hats off to the new staff and management for improving things so quickly and successfully!!!

We have just enjoyed the best Sunday lunch ever at the Black Horse. The service was very quick but the food was fresh and plentiful. We even managed a dessert which we have never seen so well presented. We would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys beautiful food with excellent service and a great chef. *****

Great new menu based on quality steaks and grills with trad Sunday lunches also a new welcome addition.

Never have I had a Lamb Shank like it!!!! The roast lunches are excellent and very good value for money. You have to get in quick though!!
