Fantastic food and service

Excellent food and lovely service

I booked a table for 6 for Sunday lunch to celebrate mums 88th birthday The food was outstanding. The staff were kind and attentive. I highly recommend the Hoping Hare

Visited the Hopping Hare on Friday 18th Oct. Found to my delight that there was Sea Trout now on the menu - absolutely superb meal! Fish cooked to perfection, and the accompanying vegetables complemented the fish really well. Chef deserves praise for their ability to deliver a great fish meal! New dessert on menu Bread pudding with apricot and ice cream - what a delicious way to finish the meal! Looking forward to the next visit!

Excellent quality and varied food menu. All priced vary reasonably considering the good quality. The duo of venison was perfectly cooked and well presented as were all the items we chose from the menu. The staff are welcoming and attentive and the restaurant area conducive to a perfect evening meal out.Perhaps a background of very low volume music may add to the atmosphere.

An excellent evening meal for my Wife’s birthday. Very friendly welcome and all the staff were very friendly. A nice touch at the end was a candle and Happy Birthday written in chocolate on my wife’s dessert plate. Might be an idea to have some quiet music in the background to enhance the atmosphere, especially when the restaurant isn’t full. The only slight down was that some of the vegetables could have done with a little more cooking ! Overall it was a really delicious meal.

Excellent Sunday roast. Friendly staff.

Our Sunday evening meal was delightful. Our party of four chose the turkey roast dinner, the roast beef dinner and the trout, all were very well presented and very tasty. The portion were a good size so much so most of us declined a dessert. The staff were friendly and attentive, the dining room was very pleasant. A throughly enjoyable evening. Having dined there before this will always be my choice of venue when visiting Northampton.

Excellent service , however was slightly disappointed with the food as the cod was gritty however the sticky toffee pudding was lovely! Could have some low music & dimmer lighting for extra ambience.

I booked a table for 8 to celebrate my mum’s heavenly birthday. She loved fish and chips here, so that’s what we had.

Absolutely outstanding food, best I’ve eaten in a long time. Will definitely be returning to try the other menu items I didn’t get around to eating this time

I have not had one bad or disappointing dining experience at this beautiful Gastro Pub. The food is divine, whether you’re eating from their weekly evening Menu or Sunday Roast Menu. The staff are alway attentive, and the atmosphere so welcoming, cosy and relaxing. Would highly recommend!

This was our second visit to the Hopping Hare for their excellent taster menu. Each course on both trips has been a joy, beautifully presented and amazing tastes. Really good value for money with attentive and friendly service. We will definitely be returning.

We go to the hopping gate because the quality of the food and service is better than ANY equivalent gastropub in the area. Any special ocassion we go to the hopping hare.

Had a lovely meal for my 80th the waitress was wonderful…

My first visit on Sunday with a friend for 'Sunday Lunch', I will certainly be going back, delicious beef roast, served hot and beautifully presented. The staff were attentive and friendly.
