My wife and I celebrated her birthday with dinner at the Hopping Hare. Our food was amongst the best we have had since moving to Northamptonshire a couple of years ago. We had three courses and each one was excellent - good quality ingredients, perfectly cooked and with a matching flair for presentation. The service was excellent with perfect timing and a friendly attitude. We would recommend a visit to The Hopping Hare - even if you have nothing to celebrate but wish for a perfect foodie evening.

We'd not been here before but had heard good things. We were not disappointed. The ambience and service was professional, unlike many other (chain) establishments. One of the staff explained it is privately owned and run, with an established chef who sources ingredients locally where possible. The food is really well presented and we would definitely recommend for an enjoyable lunch or dinner.

Food quality excellent ,definitely recommend the cod loin which was perfectly cooked ,along with the breads to start and excellent cheese to finish,the whole meal and service were a cut above your normal pub food Looking forward to next visit

Once again, the food, atmosphere and service at the Hopping Hare was amazing. The sirloin steak was very flavoursome and cooked to perfection. My partner had the cottage pie, which again was very, very good. The caramelised lemon tart desert was to die for. My thanks to Rosie and the team for a lovely evening.

Had a very nice meal for my daughter’s birthday. Food was outstanding and the staff were absolutely lovely especially Jenny our waitress. The only thing I would say is that the website says it’s dog friendly, however they are only aloud in the garden ( maybe change the website).

The food was good although the scallop starter was a bit sparce. The service was attentive but the acoustics in the room were poor and the very average Shiraz was totally overpriced.

My wife and I went to the Hopping Hare for a celebratory birthday dinner to mark my 40th. The food was top quality and beautifully presented. We received great service in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Superb lunch and service. Good value for money also. Will definitely be coming back.

My friends and I very much liked our visit to the Hopping Hare. Next time I am in the UK, if I am in Northampton I will revisit the Hopping Hare Restaurant for sure. Loraine, Toronto, ON Canada.

Wow! We had the loveliest experience whilst staying and dining here. We had the journey from hell and the staff were all so accommodating. We were unsure what to order, so opted for the tasting menu. Excellent excellent food, it was delicious, the plates were hot (which is a biggie for me) and the dishes all worked so perfectly. Wine was perfect, the night was perfect.

First visit in a long time. The dining room was clean looking and the tables were well set out but perhaps could have a little more atmosphere. The food was well presented although the accompaniments were a bit sparse. The service from one particular young lady was cheerful and friendly even though they forgot a drink we ordered - twice! It is not cheap but we will visit again another time.
