This was my first visit, and I must say, the staff made me very welcome and were polite and friendly. I shared my table with my Nephew and we both thoroughly enjoyed our starters and main course. The menu was excellent with plenty of choice but not too much choice, and everything was cooked beautifully. I will not hesitate to recommend this restaurant and I will definitely go again.

I've stayed here now a few times, normally associated with family occasions. The restaurant is well appointed with a nice ambience, the staff attentive, the menu options excellent, and the food extremely well cooked and delicious, and presented to a high standard. Most certainly value for money. I can thoroughly recommend it.

Food fantastic as ever, best roast potatoes anywhere, fantastic beef too. Very good service, very attentive. I think it's the best pub food anywhere in Northampton

Came with my family for Sunday dinner (11 of us) and everyone enjoyed their meal. Food was great and service was amazing! Would defo recommend For the money it was def worth it

We are frequent visitors to the hoping hare it’s my husband’s favourite place to eat .our meal last night was excellent from start to finish service & staff first class even tho the restraint was really busy with a wedding party the standard was still excellent .Thank you hoping hare until next time .

Stayed for one night and had dinner in the restaurant, setting was beautiful, lots of sparkling glassware, staff very friendly and efficient and the food was lovely, steak and fish both perfectly cooked, would definitely book again next time we are in the area

Great gasto pub with good food, and service. Loved they even had 0% San Miguel on draft. Food was exceptionally good.

Everything was perfect. Table looked lovely. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent. Would highly recommend, could not fault anything.

First time back to this restaurant for many years and pleasantly surprised. Lunch visit booked on line. Only had a main course which was the venison. This was delicious. Venison was perfectly cooked with a collection of interesting and well cooked accompaniments. The meal was beautifully presented and hot. Only niggle was the poor selection of wines especially by the glass. It resembled a wine list from decades ago with a very predictable and uninspiring selection. A wine list should serve to entice and encourage customers to try new grape varieties and blends alongside some of the more popular choices. In my opinion the wines on offer were very expensive and didn't provide the choice and value for money to compliment the standard of food. I will, however, look forward to visiting again.

Booked a meal as we had heard good reports about the food. We were very happy and had a lovely evening, the staff were great ,quick and helpful.Service was great, food was lovely and very well presented .One small observation was that the potatoes were not very hot for both me and my wife, .I am normally disappointed with deserts as they can be shop bought and dressed up, but the stick toffee pudding was superb.A great night and will be back

A very tasty meal. good vegetarian selection. Well presented in a nice environment, with very attentive staff. All you could ask for!

Food is always very good here, it is our go to restaurant., especially for Sunday lunch, but this evening the roast potatoes were not properly cooked, didn't matter too much, we still enjoyed our meal, couldn't be bothered to complain, but please improve for next time; hence my score of 4.5
