The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonAs always lovely food great staff cannot fault in anyway
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonWe had a table for 8 booked for late Saturday lunch, we arrived an hour early due to an event finishing early and the team were extremely accommodating also allowing us to sit outside as the sun has his hat on. Everything was faultless, food was fantastic as ever, only slight two gripes would be one of our sandwiches arrived as a wrap and as our table was outside we had to order at the bar and couldn’t have a tab, we would have happily left a card behind. Well done team hopping hare.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonBooked in for an early evening meal with my wife after watching the Rugby. Just really good all round. The greeting, decor, food, service. Spot on. Just 4/5 for atmosphere as it was late afternoon / early evening, so not many people in at that time.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonDelicious food from a very good menu. Husband had steak- v nice- cooked exactly as he wanted. Mother had sea trout and there was a very slight delay (not a problem) as chef wasnt happy with how it cooked, so was doing another- delicious. You really feel all the staff care and really want you to enjoy your meal.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonWe organised a group booking for 13 of us. It was early afternoon on a Saturday so we all went for the afternoon tea. As some of us preferred savoury over sweet the Hopping Hare very kindly produced a savoury option where the small cakes were replaced by savoury items, and it was very nice. This should become a regular part of their menu. The staff were very helpful throughout. The one complaint we all had was that the cream for the scones was so hard that it could not be spread. I also had no taste. Really disappointing as the scones and cream are the cornerstone an afternoon tea. Otherwise a lovely time was had by all. Thanks Hopping Hare.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonSuperb food from a great range, starters exceptionally good. Had to be fish and chips main as it was Friday. Excellent choice of wines. Friendly service lovely waitress who took photos. Best food around Northampton currently.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonExcellent food and service
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonI can't recommend this place enough. The food is incredibly tasty and such good value. I highly recommend the pan fried chicken breast, it is to die for. I discovered the restaurant at a work event and immediately booked to return with my husband. As we aren't local, I made use of their lovely rooms too. The service is also great, the team are knowledgeable and very friendly. I wish I lived closer to go more often but I'll be returning either way.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonVery busy on the Sunday we went and we had a slight delay on our table being ready. Food and service was the usual high standard that we usually receive when dining here
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonI booked Sunday lunch at The Hopping Hare, and it was absolutely delightful. Though a little pricier than other pubs, what you get is exquisite and well worth the money. The duo of mackerel was full of fresh flavours; the roast chicken was superbly done. Recommended for a special occasion.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonMemorable evening of gin tasting with superb food. Every course was perfect - carefully crafted, beautifully presented with fresh ingredients. Exceptional & service to match.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonA very disappointing visit from the minute we walked in. Despite the restaurant with lovely windows only having one table occupied we were shown to a table in a walkway near fhe doors in and out of the kitchen. When asked if we could move, told oh they setting up for a big party. But then I asked about the other 3 unoccupied tables and was reluctantly moved. The service was slow considering we were the only table in there. We ended up only having a super starter and leaving. We didn’t receive part of our drinks order either. Sadly we won’t be returning.
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonAt last somewhere decent to eat in my area .! I treated a friend for her 60th and worried that it would be a disappointment as is so often the case. . Can’t praise you enough . The staff were excellent , the food was 10/10. Thank you so much. See you very soon X
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonFood was absolutely delicious... all the courses were - best restaurant meal I've eaten in a long time. Excellent value for money and the service was brilliant. Will definitely eat here again. Highly recommended.
The Hopping Hare – Northampton2 night stay at the Hopping Hare. Evening meal was fantastic. I had the fish and chips which was fantastic. Lovely light batter on the beautifully cooked cod + crispy chips ,peas & home made tartare sauce. My wife ‘ who’s is very particular on what she wastes her calories on had the cod loin with various veggies. She was ecstatic & thought is was superb. For sweet I had sticky toffee pudding which was unusually light ,the wife had the caramelised lemon tart. It was the best sweet she’d had. We came back from a pre-booked Indian and both had the lemon tart tonight. I agree it was superbe!
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonSuper food beautifully presented. Wine good. Service excellent!
The Hopping Hare – NorthamptonMy friend & myself have been a few times & the service & food have always been excellent, however, on this occasion the service was very much lacking. We never received ours drinks until after our food had been served to us, my friend had gone to the bar, but no one was there, we did finally manage to get the waitress attention, she had by this time been chatting to a table of 3 men for about 15-20 mins. The person that had taken our drinks order, did then bring our drinks, saying that she thought we had them, but no-one had checked that was the case. Again the food is normally excellent & my certainly was, but not very hot, however, my friends was cold, it was returned & when it came back, looked like it had been microwaved to heat, as the potato my friend had taken a bite out of, was still on the plate. The whole experience was disappoiting.
