We were a party of five for an early family Christmas lunch. The food was delicious and beautifully-presented. The staff were very friendly, professional and attentive. The only issue we had was their insistence that the whole table had to order from the same menu. As some of us wanted dishes from the Christmas set menu and some of us wanted dishes from the a la carte menu. But this wasn’t allowed, so we had to compromise. It wasn’t a big compromise and we still thoroughly enjoyed our meal. But we thought it was an arbitrary rule and worth mentioning in the review as it will save people wasting time choosing dishes only to be told they can’t mix menus and having to re-choose. As the rule is not mentioned on the menu. The waitress told us after we had spent ten minutes choosing. Lastly, I emphasise that the food was really good, the ambience lovely - even with birthday parties in it didn’t feel too loud - and apart from the aforementioned issue the service was also excellent.

Went on the Sunday evening at 6 30. Place was busy but not crowded or noisy. Plenty of very pleasant staff. Had the roast beef which melted in the mouth. Red cabbage was also very tasty and plenty of other veg. Took a sticky toffee pudding home for my wife who had a cold. This was our third visit in a few months and we will be back soon. 5*.

My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Hopping Hare this past weekend and it was a great experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. One stand out feature for us was the spacious layout of the restaurant. Unlike many other establishments that often overcrowd their space, the Hopping Hare struck perfect balance, we never felt cramped or too close to other diners. The food was of exceptional quality and very reasonably priced. The staff were also a credit to the Hopping Hare, they were very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be going back, thank you to all at the Hopping Hare, we will definitely be going back!

We were a group of 6 & we enjoyed the Festive Fayre Menu, the food was outstanding, the staff were attentive & we all felt it was excellent value, looking forward to to booking in again next year. Thank you

2nd Year running at the Hopping Hare for our Team Xmas lunch. Great food; timely service and despite the restaurant being full with many large tables, the staff were excellent and the pace of the food was perfect. Highly recommend

2nd time eating at The Hopping Hare. On both occasions the food was amazing and the staff ultra friendly and the service was excellent. As a family no one had a single complaint. We also stayed the night and the room was excellent great night's sleep also lovely breakfast. Would highly recommend

5 of us went for Xmas Afternoon Tea, there was a slight mix up with the booking but it was sorted quickly & actually gave us time to chat before the food came out. The staff are lovely & nothing was too much. We've already booked for January :-) Thanks

We visited for our annual Christmas lunch with friends. ( we do come otero times too!!) We couldn't fault the service or the food. The portions were generous & well presented - loved the red cabbage & goats cheese starter.

We had excellent service from all of the staff at the Hopping Hare on our recent visit when our group had their annual Christmas get together. The food was pre ordered as there were 16 of in our group and it was served to us at our reserved table in a fast and efficient manor. It was of a very good standard and everyone enjoyed their meal. Our drinks were also delivered to our table. Overall we all had a very enjoyable afternoon and l’m sure we will visit again very soon. Can you send a big thank you to all of the staff who were working in the afternoon on 13th December 2023 .

Brilliant food and lovely servers as usual. BUT spoiled by a table of 12 or so who behaved as though they were in a private room, shouting from one end of the table to the other (and they were sober). Been going to the Hopping Hare for years and never experienced such thoughtlessness from a group of customers before. Literally couldn’t carry on a conversation. (Still we will be back next week since the staff are so lovely and the food beautifully cooked)

Even though the Hopping Hare was very busy the service was excellent. The evening meal was also particulary good. We stayed the night and the room very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast also one of the best we have had. We would recomend and would sttay again with no hesitation.

Excellent food and service. Made to feel very welcome with two small children. Staff were clearly very busy but still attentive and courteous. We all loved our meals. Food looked and tasted delicious. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

We had a fabulous time at the Hopping Hare. Venue was great and our table was in a wonderful location considering there was quite a few of us. The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and we will definitely be coming back individually and as a group.

Excellent meal we had Christmas meal. Could not fault it. Party of 9. Just the 3 Christmas meals the potaotes were not too nice. But the other food amazing
