The food was pretty good but they had ran out of fish.. the menu is limited. Very understaffed also paid our bill and left with our plates still on the table.

Boogalu – Northern QuarterFood was nice and had a great time. One of the waitresses was great but it felt like she was doing everything herself. There was a few members of staff chilling at the bar with guests while the waitress was rushed off her feet. Food came out way before we got our drinks and we had to ask for cutlery. Best food was the Thai chicken tacos the lamb birria quesadillas, also the pork nachos were lovely. Think just teething issues but great food and would come back.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterWe visited a week after opening and the atmosphere was great. We were seated fairly promptly and shown to our table. The tables upstairs are positioned very close together although we didn’t mind too much. Our drinks order was taken almost immediately however these didn’t arrive until after our food which was a shame. The food was delicious and really flavoursome. We had to order more as we were still hungry and we did comment about the portion sizes being a little on the small side, especially for the price. A number of tables, including us, had to ask for cutlery. I think these should be on the table as standard - it saves the waiting staff a job if nothing else. The restaurant was very busy which was great but it was a bit odd seeing the chefs deliver food to the table, especially when the waiting staff were hanging around at times. Apart from the feedback above, I couldn’t really criticise the service we received, although the table next to us hadn’t received any food or their drinks the entire time we were there (almost 2 hours) and they were clearly v unhappy. We only noticed this because of how close the tables were. The main let down for us was the price. Even with 50% off the food, we felt it was very expensive for what we had, although that seems to be fairly standard for Manchester now. We were expecting larger portions and we left feeling as though we could eat more. For that reason, we probably wouldn’t return as it didn’t feel like it was value for money. This is a real shame because the food was lovely.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterThe food was great, would have been nice if there was more. Went twice with different groups and we got three tacos one night and then when I went next we got two? I think for the price, three would be a good point to go for. The upstairs atmosphere was great, enjoyed the live dj and the place in general. Would have preferred not to be on high chairs to eat as I feel they're more bar like, but doesn't matter all that much and I did notice a dog on the sofas that someone had brought in so I'm glad I wasn't eating by them. Food would be higher because it tasted great but a lot of things had run out and the portions were small too. Overall think it was good and would probably try it again after it's been open a while to give chance for teething issues in supply an portions to sort out.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterBig fat won’t come again
Boogalu – Northern QuarterGave up waiting an hour after our booking as we had no drinks and food order had only just been taken. Ordered bottles of wine to make it easier but that didn’t help!
Boogalu – Northern QuarterWe waited a long time to be offered drinks or to order food. It was busy and the atmosphere was good. We had the beef and the thai chicken tacos and nachos and the food was all very good. The service was what let it down. We asked for cutlery as our food arrived and were given the bill and a card machine and when we did go up to the bar to pay, our bill had items on it we did not have and once rectified, the person charged us too much (by 50p so no biggie but we would have liked at least an apology for the over charging). Hopefully these are just teething issues with the venue only recently opening.
Boogalu – Northern QuarterWe went on 2nd day of opening and had relaxed expectations due to it only be their second day. We were sat downstairs, my only recommendation was that the lights are abit bright downstairs but not really a major issue. It took a very long time to get served but the manager was apologetic and we were fine chatting and weren’t bothered by this. Finally received our drink but weren’t giving anything to stir our cocktails with. Food arrived and saved the day! Food was delicious! We had all the veggie options and loved them all! We had to ask for side plates and cutlery. One of the waitresses handed me 3 knives and 1 fork which we were abit confused about. We had to them ask her again for 3 more forks and she then passed me 3 more knives, which made me feel silly. We then got up and grabbed the forks ourself. I think if cutlery and side plates were either already on the table or given as soon as you had ordered it would have been a lot easier. We ended up ordering more food as we had enjoyed it so much. Even better it was 50% off! Cocktails were okay but nothing special for the price. We had service charge put on the bill but I wasn’t sure if we should have really had to pay for it seeing as we waited very long for things to arrive or be served. We left it on and did enjoy our evening and will be back again, hoping these issues are only due to it being very new! Music was good with a Dj on upstairs

Boogalu – Northern QuarterBooked table for 15th Feb on line my for my 3rd visit, I bring macy my neice age 14 who is veggie the last 2 visits were spit on. I came Saturday with macy and my husband we ordered starters all fine then 2 pitzas again fine but I asked for the crab linguine which arrived with no crab and 5 prawns!! In asking was told had no crab and should have been told by the lady who served us, incidently both nice ladies however we said we went told and I would have not had it if that was the case!!! No resolution no would you like to order something else just an assumption that was how it is, unhappy as I was as both my husband and neice werehalf way through the pitzas just decided to eat it , I think that the whole we have no crab was poor so prawns it is was poor which would having travelled especially from Worsley would stop me from going again!! Shame it had become a favourite of ours sorry better customer service would have helped
