We enjoyed four meals at the Apple Inn while holidaying in the area. The menu is interestingly varied, including some unusual items, such as Shetland mussels for starters or mains. They were the tastiest mussels I’ve ever had. The sea bream dish was excellent, too, but I didn’t get around to the fish pie. The Apple Inn has a relaxed ambience and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Five stars for me.

3 breakfasts and 1 lunch during our stay. Food fabulous and plenty of it, staff could not do enough for you. Our second visit and we will be back again.

Went, for the first time yesterday. What a fantastic place, the village is beautiful, We had two Sunday dinners, they were great, one chicken one Beef with a side of cauliflower cheese which was amazing Perfect portion sizes, fresh produce and severed hot. Puddings we’re yummy Service was really good and they were all so nice pleasant, nothing was to much trouble. I cannot recommend this place highly enough I feel like I found a hidden gem and will def be going back,

A fantastic meal and great atmosphere. We were recommended by Charlton Hall where we staying and we were not disappointed. Thanks for a lovely meal to end our road trip to Scotland and the Northumberland coast.

Good service mostly - 3 meals served and the other 2 were 10 mins later. Food was fine although my daughter later said her mash was not hot enough.

We had a couple of visits to the Apple Inn during our weeks holiday . It’s a great venue and the staff and the service they provide are a step up in comparison to their local rivals. The food was consistently good the cheese soufflé is a great starter We had great main courses , a couple of pub classics in sausage & mash with fish & chips. Great portions and good drink selection. Give it a go it’s one of the best in the area .

As a Coeliac it’s hard finding places to eat and when you you often get treated like a second class citizen. This includes often getting less on your plate. It’s like a breathe of fresh air when you find a place that will actually look after you. I had a Sunday granted the Yorkshire pudding was missing, but that was just bad luck. The plate was piled high with food! I can honestly say the Lunch we had was the best in about 5 years. Well done to all the staff for a fantastic gluten free lunch you made us both extremely happy and full!

Really thoughtful, attentive staff. These guys make the place. Even the young new boy was fabulous! GREAT pie! Cheese soufflé absolutely brilliant! Steak OK, really lovely flame grilled taste, but wouldn't order again as was overcooked. Massive food portions.

A late booking for some much needed repast. A massive portion of fish and chips with the lightest batter that melted in the mouth. Followed by an impressive signature apple. Thanks to the staff who were very attentive.

Beautiful place and we picked this because it was advertised as dog friendly and it so was. We booked lunchtime not realising it was light bites - but the guys had fish and chips and we had sausage and mash ( alternative as the steak pie wasn’t available). Staff were very friendly and we would eat here again.

Amazing Sunday lunch, really accomodating for dogs and amazingly friendly staff! we got the Beef Roast and the Lamb Roast, both of which were incredible. The portions were huge and it came with just enough of everything to leave room for pudding!! We had the sticky toffee pudding, which was equally as amazing. Can't wait to go again!

We had a very nice night to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and would go again.The staff were very welcoming and deserve a special mention.

Made sure we booked for our second visit during one weeks holiday in Lucker. Superb fish pie with fresh veg and hubbie very happy with his bacon burger and chunky chips. Our friends said the steak pie was one of the best they’d had. Good friendly service.

We have dined at The Apple Inn several times when we come up on holiday. The food is excellent and good value even though prices have gone up as they have everywhere. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and take time to have a chat. You have ample space and tables are well apart but still gives a cosy atmosphere. I would recommend this venue to all.

Brilliant service and a brilliant breakfast. We will definitely be back.

Evening meal booked for 8. A pleasant evening with good service by the staff, sadly some dishes did not appear to reflect the quality suggested by the website that encouraged us to book. Unlikely to return as better value and quality available locally.
