Good food, with local ingredients.

On the 1st April, my wife and I visited the Apple Inn to celebrate our Golden Wedding. As I had advised them of the reason for the meal, they had a special table table for us, decorated with some banners and sparklers on the table. Nice Touch! My wife ordered a chicken dish and I ordered a Sirloin Steak. When it arrived I was a bit disappointed with what was on the plate; 6 baby tomatoes, 4 small mushrooms, a few vegetables and some garnish on the top. I know prices have gone up, but I was expecting slightly more for £28. The chips however were lovely. My steak seemed rather dry, and was very difficult to cut. Asked for a new steak knife, which was supplied, but it was still difficult to cut. There was a lot of fat and sinew through the meat. When I pointed this out I was offered a replacement, but declined the offer as it would have meant my wife having to wait on me being supplied with a new meal, and wait until I finished. They did offer to take off something from the Bill, but this was £5 from an £85 Bill. I declined the very generous offer. The staff were excellent and made a special effort to make us feel "special". The food did not live up to my expectations.

Food and service were amazing. We were a family of ten and we all got hot food at the same time. The puddings were soooo good. Staff could not do enough for us and were so accommodating with all of us including our dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Vegetarian options too which were delicious. Gastro type good at a fair price.

Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Had such a lovely evening, visited as a family with 2 children and was so nice and relaxed, food for the children was good too and they really enjoyed their activity sheets provided. Would definitely recommend and visit again on our next holiday

We visited The Apple Inn yesterday evening . The pub has a gastro pub feel about it and is bright and modern . Our meal was served to us by lovely friendly and efficient staff. I had the Mussels in wine and garlic for starters and my husband had the Chicken liver parfait , both were well presented and delicious . I then opted for the Fish pie which was really tasty , hubby had the Lamb shank and my goodness what a plateful , he said it was fabulous. I know that this inn welcomes owners and their dogs , but dog owners and non dog owners are seated in the same vicinity , my only gripe was that I found it a little unsavory to see the people opposite to our table feeding their dog their meal whilst we were eating . Such a shame , it was a little off putting .

Fantastic service and fantastic food

We had our dinner on mothers day, it was fantastic. The staff were excellent with all of us which consisted of me, my wife, my son and our dog. They give the dog a bowl of water and some biscuits which we thought was a lovely touch. I had the trio of meats, my wife the fish and chips and my son a small roast dinner. All were brilliant. The pub has a really friendly atmosphere. We wanted to give a tip put we were told that they could only put the correct amount in the card machine. unfortunately, we had no cash. We will be back with cash next time thanks again.

Mother’s Day treat for my wife yesterday. Lovely food and great service. We will def be back soon.

Went for tea on Mother’s Day and can honestly say it was one of the best roast dinners I’ve ever had in a pub. Went for the trio of meats for an extra £2 well worth it. My wife had the Queen of Puddings for dessert and said it was the best dessert she’s ever had. A guy sat at the side of me had the fish and chips and I don’t think I’ve seen one that big before, needless to say he didn’t finish it The pub is really nice and the staff and service were spot on. Shame I don’t live local

We were really looking forward to coming here for food on our trip away to Northumberland. The place was lovely and the atmosphere was great. Starters came which were lovely, and the wine was also nice. It’s dog friendly too which was good as we could bring our lab. Unfortunately the main courses came really cold and we had to send them back. The staff were happy to warm it up but didn’t seem that apologetic or they didn’t make any allowances on the bill or anything for the food being freezing. Probably wouldn’t come back just because I feel £16 for a Sunday roast which originally arrived cold isn’t great.

Perfectly acceptable pub grub in comfortable restaurant with good service. Menu could be more adventurous!

What a lovely little pub. Beautifully decorated inside with such a nice atmosphere. Staff were great, really friendly. Food was so tasty. Huge portions and just yum. We didn't feel rushed at all and were pleasantly surprised with the bill! Thanks so much.

Really enjoyed our meal here, great quality, very tasty and reasonable value, my only complaint was my main was so good but large I couldn’t finish it!!

Food is good we quite often come Sunday lunch which was lovely and the quality was good but could have been a touch hotter. Lovely atmosphere and our dog got a few treats and a bowl of water. Deserts a little bit pricey.

Visited here after searching on Google for dog friendly pubs in the Bamburgh area. Very pleased we came - the team were super lovely and very helpful when our pup knocked over his water! The food was excellent, everyone was really nice and the only downside was that the local beer my partner wanted wasn't available! We'd definitely visit again and recommend to anyone.
