Unfortunately I cannot write a review Although we booked well in advance for Saturday at 10.00 am, and received an email confirming our booking, when we arrived we were told that there was no record of us having booked and no tables available as the place was full due to a wedding party.

We go to The Apple every time we are in the area. Every time we have had a lovely meal. The portions are generous. Service is brilliant. This staff are very friendly and attentive. Don’t pass it by but you may need to book.

Excellent, could not fault. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Serving staff were attentive without checking on you every couple of minutes. Atmosphere very relaxing. Most of all the food was perfect. As for their Signature Apple dish, well that will be a dish that we will be talking about for years to come, it is the most unique dessert we have eaten anywhere.

Fish & Chips was very good Atmosphere not good, music unsuitable, intrusive and too loud. Lighting too bright. Shame will not be returning

Excellent meal last night. The signature starter double baked cheese soufflé and ‘Apple’ dessert were especially delicious.

Called in for lunch, enjoyed the vegetarian sharing platter, the artisan bread was so lovely we had to ask for more which was happily given. The combination of baked Camembert, beetroot hummus, olives, cheese sticks and hazelnut dukkah was great. Staff were super friendly and loved the pub in general which was very quiet because of the time of day. A place to definitely return to.

We were staying in Roe Deer Cottage for a few nights and visited The Apple Inn on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. On Tuesday we were a party of 4 plus 2 large greyhounds. The restaurant was very accommodating and the staff were lovely. We sat at table 10 which is originally a table for 6 people however the staff removed one of the tables to give the dogs more space which was great and much appreciated. To start we had a twice baked cheese soufflé (amazing!!!!) and a pulled pork bao buns, then for mains; fillet steak medium rare - cooked perfectly- the chicken curry which was on the specials menu, mussels and fish pie. All were delicious! On Wednesday my husband and I visited just the 2 of us while our friends looked after the dogs in the cottage. We had a meat sharing platter, cheese soufflé (because I HAD to have it again!!), chilli potato skins and chimichurri greens. The meat sharing platter was exceptional however my husband was a little disappointed as it says it comes with n’duja however it didn’t. Mentioned to the waiter though who apologised and passed on to the chef - not a problem really! The soufflé was delicious again, the potato skins were great. The chimichurri greens weren’t overly “chimichurri” but again still tasty. All in all a very pleasant meal again! We also had the signature apple desert which was amazing!!! Special shout out to Corey who looked after us both nights plus Megan who served us on Wednesday. Both polite, welcoming and very efficient. The management we dealt with were exceptional - Lyndsay on Tuesday was so lovely and also helped us out greatly when one of our dogs scraped their leg and left a lovely trail of blood spots through the restaurant! (Apologies!!!!). Promptly cleaned up by herself as well as making sure Gracie was ok, supplying us with bandages and details of a local vet should we have needed it (thankfully we didn’t - it was just a scrape!). Claire on Wednesday was absolutely lovely - so welcoming and friendly. Just what you want coming in to a little local such as the Apple Inn. Overall a wonderful experience and would highly recommend!

We spent the night in the Shepherd’s Hut so chose the Apple Inn for our anniversary meal. Absolutely first class meal and service. The food was superb. We had the Fish Pie, which was divine, and the Big Apple Burger,; super tasty and with the best onion rings ever. Mango sorbet and three types of ice cream were refreshing desserts- I would have tried the Apple and Cinnamon pie if I had any room! The staff cannot do enough for you. Corey was the most friendly and attentive server; he was fabulous. Lynsey is professional, approachable and welcoming. We would definitely recommend the Apple Inn. Breakfast the next day was also fantastic!

I don't usually write reviews but our experience at the Apple Inn was so good it would be a shame not to share! Having enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea at the Beau Monde Spa, myself and two friends were not particularly hungry so a full meal would have been wasted. In fact there were so many dishes on the menu we wanted to try that we decided to choose a selection of the small plates and we weren't disappointed. The cheese soufle was delectable as was the veggie sharing platter. The lamb croquettes and prawn tacos were just popping with flavour. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, bringing more and more bread for the baked camembert. Superb value for money and great service.

We've been enjoying drinks over Summer at The Queen's Head and had such a lovely welcome, particilarly in view of the young autistic person who sometimes comes with us. So we were really pleased to visit to enjoy a meal with friends. It was great to see it buzzing and have such a great atmosphere. Also, the music later in the eveningvwas really good. We all enjoyed our meals, but can I make a big plea for chips and chicken to be fried in oil separate than that cooking fish? I have a fish allergy so have to be careful and it made my choices really limited - a pity because I hear the chips were lovely. Also, I'm not sure the menu can really indicate the chips or fries as being vegetarian. The waitress, however, was really helpful in checking with the chef. My sausage casserole was very tasty, and I really appreciated the chef going the extra mile and making me saute potatoes which I very much enjoyed. Thanks also to the staff for being so helpful in finding me vegetarian wine that I can drink. Great night, and great pub, and we look forward to going again soon.
