Amazing. Food was incredible and the service was great too. Dog friendly pub that worked well for us. Brilliant all round thank you AAA+++

The service good and the food lovely. However we did feel that the portions could have been a slightly bigger. We both had steak and Guineas pies which were very tasty but on the small side for a mani course. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was as good as my home made pudd. This was served with ice cream which was also really tasty but again only one small scoop just made me feel a little disappointed.

There was a gang of 12 of us over a significant age range and everyone of us really enjoyed the food. The choice of drinks was good and the staff were excellent. Would strongly recommend, but don't take Ben with you, he has expensive tastes and wants to finish off your meal before you have given up on it, but he's a growing lad!

The staff at Apple Inn were brilliant - endlessly cheerful and helpful. The food was excellent and the pub had gone to enormous lengths to keep every table screened from the next and Covid safe. congratulations to you all but particularly to the lovely girl who served us.

Booked for Sunday lunch as our first post lockdown meal out, meet and greet was good and all covid friendly layout etc. We were served and our order taken quickly, when our lunch arrived I immediately thought "is that it" the server left the table and I did not get chance to ask about the lack of potatoes and minimal gravy. The veg we did have and meat was very nice but no one came to our table again.. despite trying to attract the attention of staff. We sat for 20 minutes with dirty plates as did a family opposite.. I would have liked a dessert but did not get the opportunity. Eventually after being continually ignored we decided to leave, upon going to the bar two staff were stood at the end chatting and when I remarked about waiting with dirty plates she just said "oh its been very busy" not very apologetic or concerned about the appaling lack of service. If they think it was busy then summer is going to be a real eye opener. Shame as we are local and would have gone again.

Light airy ambience with tables well spaced. Creative food- both the slow cooked lamb salad and the salmon salad were very tasty and the sweet potato chips were very moreish . A zucchini and lime cake ( vegan) was light and tangy and chocolate cake had just the right amount of chocolate and sugar in it, unlike many that are too sweet. Obviously staff are still settling into things but service was friendly.

I booked my table on line about 3 weeks ago ...And specifically requested a " a dog free area" in the restaurant....When I was initially seated there were no dogs in the restaurant...However by the time I finished my meal there were 5 dogs in the restaurant all within 3 metres of me !.... I don't have anything against dogs in "pubs" it's just I don't like them in my vicinity when I'm eating ...In a "restaurant area.!"...( After all I left my own dog at home for an hour ....Why couldn't others do the same ? ).. Putting this issue aside we had a very enjoyable meal with excellent service !

We went for Sunday lunch - and their sunday roast is one of my favourites. They get it all just right from the crispy potatoes to the tender and juicy roast. The dessert service was a bit slow as we coincided with a large number of arrivals, but otherwise very friendly and efficient.

Had a lovely Afternoon Tea. Service was friendly & very attentive. Even our dog was welcome! The Afternoon Tea was absolutely stunning and everything was very tasty - with some unique twists. Being small eaters, we found we could not do justice to all the food offered but the waitress kindly presented us with doggy bags to take away with us! Well done on your first week of business - we will return.

Excellent food, excellent service. First time in a restaurant since lockdown lifted. The whole experience was first class. Well done under difficult circumstances. Highly recommend.

Had Afternoon Tea and were made to feel very welcome on entering - so was our dog! The waitresses were very friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble. When our Afternoon Tea arrived it was beautifully presented with some interesting twists to make it even tastier. Having small appetites, we couldn't do justice to every course but our waitress kindly offered to box up what we couldn't manage so we could take it home. We would definitely recommend The School House and will be back soon. Compliments to the chefs!
