We went here for my partners 40th birthday with family. It was a fantastic meal. Food was delicious. Service excellent. Adults and children loved it. We have been back for the steak night which was great value for money

Unfortunately, our last visit to Bouchon was rather a disappointment. We had asked for a table upstairs but were told on arrival that this wasn't possible. However, other diners arrived and were ushered up there. We put this aside to concentrate on the food; a starter of scallops was tasty but far too small and the French onion soup was lacking in depth and richness. I went for the roasted bream which was pleasant but unspectacular, my partner's lamb tagine was also deemed 'bland'. Even our favourite pud, the clafoutis was overcooked and rubbery. I only hope this was a one-off dud evening because all our previous visits have been very enjoyable. The service was as it always has been; efficient and charming.

My husband and I have been several times to this restaurant and every time the food has been fabulous. Infact when I am we are deciding where to go for a meal it always comes back to Bistro En Glaze. The Beef Bourguignon is fantastic with great hunks of beef and veg in a delicious gravy. Baby stuffed peppers with goats cheese are a must for starter as is the black pudding with mushroom risotto topped with a poached egg (my husbands fav). All in all, the food is great, the atmosphere is relaxing, not the cheapest in the world but definitely worth a visit!!

This was my first visit to Richard Sim's new venture in Amble and i was in for a treat, a dark wet wednesday nite and Zecca was busy and the atmosphere was buzzing. The first thing that struck me was the fantastic interior that would not be out of place in Jesmond or town. Salted sqiud had a nice kick and my king prawn and crab taglletlle was gorgeous, my partner is still raving about his Ingram lamb chops. It was a little further that we'd normally travel, but we'll definitely be back.

My partner and I ate here on a Saturday night. The restaurant was very busy. The only negative - we had to ask to be taken to our table after being forgotten about at the bar for a while, but once we were seated the service improved and we realised it had been worth the wait as the food was superb. Would highly recommend a visit here and suggest you try the pigeon skewers and Caribbean Pirate Stew with Jerk Chicken, King Prawns and Chorizo - delicious! We will definitely be returning and hopefully very soon!

Very enjoyable meal here this week. Friendly, good atmosphere and excellent food. Interesting menu; slightly different items from run of the mill Indian restaurants. The dishes were flavoursome and nicely presented, well spiced from a flavour aspect, clean rather than muddy, but with a tendency to be on the mild side which is no bad thing. Thoroughly recommended.

A very friendly and welcoming restaurant. Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff. You would have to go to great lengths to find food as wonderful as this.

I find it strange that nobody has yet reviewed this superb restaurant. It has being part of Hexham for many many years. Hexham has a number of very good Indian restaurants but try this one, the food is remarkable. The service is slower than one might expect but I get the impression its all freshly cooked. The best madras on the north east. It tasted like no other madras. Stunning spices tingle on the palate, a beautiful texture and chicken so tender. No other restaurant has equalled the madras I have here. Excellent.

The food is always good, but the service is poor. If you want friendly service go somewhere else. If you are a group of lads drinking they will make you wait for over an hour for your food so you drink more. The waiters have all the charisma of a contraflow system and always 'expect' a large tip for piss poor service.

We ate here end of April. My husband and myself, son, daughter and their respective partners. I have got to be honest we chose the banquets as there was so many choices, we could not concentrate on the menu. We were not disappointed. It was great, as was the service. All I can say is give it a try. Me and my husband are going ourselves tomorrow (on our own this time, we want a seat overlooking the river, lovely !)

We dropped in here for lunch on our way through Hexham and, having heard nothing about the restaurant before, were very impressed indeed. I had duck confit salad to start which was simple, light and delicious. This was followed by ham hock and toulouse sausage with lentils, which was lighter than it sounds and very tasty indeed. We had no time for dessert unfortunately but would definitely go back. The service was friendly and prompt too.

Went there to celebrate Mam's birthday at the beginning of March - the staff were great, had a meal in the restaurant on Sunday lunch and we were all disappointed with the actual meal and it was pricey - great starters and deserts, poor main, unfortunately, but the atmosphere made up for it!

i did NOT enjoy the food, I've been to various indian food places and this must be one of the worst ones around, nothing in comparision with The Pan-Ahar which is probably one of the best ones i've ever tried

A recent visit to this true Inn was a pleasure. The room was most comfortable and the meals excellent. A convivial atmosphere in the bar and talking with some of the friendly locals only added to what was a most memorable weekend. Some very interesting Contemporary Pottery by Kashan Ceramics on display and for sale. I fully recommend it to anyone.

I've been to Verdi's a few times now. Although its very small, the food is beautiful and the waiters are really friendly. They also do their food to take away which is great. Would definitely recommend
