We have been 3 times in a month. I must say every visit it exceeded our expectation last visit on bank holiday Monday. 12 of us arrived at 6pm for a late birthday celebration. Did not book so told 15/20 minutes wait, got shown through after 10 minutes, poppadums arrived in seconds. Orders taken as soon as we we decided, main courses served within 15/20 minutes, we all ordered individually and everything was absolutely spot on. Been related to high end catering for over 20 years myself I was very impressed to see how well choreographed the staff was on a packed floor. And my sister got a cake with a sparkler for birthday which I thought was a really nice touch. The fact that it's always busy says a lot about it. Consistently exceptional service and quality food. Will definitely be back again soon and recommend friends and family.

Ordered T-bone steak and all the trimmings. Staff polite and helpful. Delivery time was spot on and the food was delicious would definitely recommend.

Terrible customer care manager is totally out of his depth. Definitley should take a step down, rude arrogant. Spent £330 for a party of 13 and he with held £15 of our £80 deposit because 3 didn't turn up. So there was not tip but the attitude was totally disgusting. He said if you don't like it don't come again. Well I definitley won't be and neither will my family.

Visited ancora about 30 times in the last few years and ave not been able to fault it in any way. Food great staff brilliant it's that good we are going in again tonight for my mates birthday with our wives 4/8/2014.

Amazing food, great people, such a nice atmosphere, I cant recommend this highly enough, it really is that good.

Worst food I have ever eaten, I was given Chicken tikka massala with cashew nut in and when I asked for a refund/ replacement meal I was told that they had better thimgs to do than deal with the customer service. I would never recommend the food to anyone. The customer service was shocking. The time befoee this I was given the wrong curry completely.

This pub has in the past suffered from poor transient landlords and few customers.NOW A good pint, very good food and friendly staff with a general hub bub of conversation

I ate at La Bella last Monday as a complete random choice as I have never visited before and I can only say it was EXCELLENT! I am a huge fan of Italian food and am very critical as I know what good Italian food is. La Bella hits the spot! Firstly the staff were extremely friendly and entertaining; the waiter wen out of his way to make sure our drinks were topped up, recommended dishes and even customised our order to fit our needs! The starters were immense with the goats cheese dish being the most amazing thing I have ever eaten! The salmon was exquisite and the chicken was cooked to perfection. As we were three girls not wanting to have a desert each the host compiled a customized desert or tiramisu and profiteroles and it was heaven! The food was amazing, the waiter entertained us all night! The price range was a average but you pay for excellent quality food! I will definitely be visiting here again, many times without fail! La Bella is now on my list of favourite Italian restaurants in Greater Manchester!

I have eaten at Sul Lago many a time, mainly special occasions i.e. Birthdays, Family get-together etc. And each time, I'm reluctant to go. I try to find many poor, generic excuses one would use to get out of something I do not want to do, however, I can't let my friends or family down, can I? Arrival at Sul Lago circa 7 PM, the table booking for that particular time for a table of 16. A 20 minute wait to be seated, but not that bothered, as I mentioned above, I'm not the biggest fan of this place anyway and the longer I don't have to eat the food, the better! After perusal of the enormous menu, I bit the bullet and went for the 'better' options provided, the Chicken Liver Pate for starter and the Seafood Linguine. My better half opted for mussels in a cream and white wine sauce and a Chicken and a Parma Ham dish. A few people ordered the Salt Baked Seabass. Please allow me to provide specific details of the food below: The Chicken Liver Pate was very lumpy, was served with bitter leaves and toasted white sliced bread. No dressing on the salad at all, so was very, very bland. The dish itself could have fed 3 people as a main, never mind a starter for one. It should have been super smooth and light, served with a really nice warm, lightly toasted bread and a beautifully dressed salad to cut through the richness of the Pate. Technically very poor and ashamedly bland. The Mussels. What can I say? They were awful! Very over-cooked to the point of they were almost chalk. The uber-thick cream sauce was congealed and custard consistency didn't lift the dish, only made it worse. I wouldn't have gave it to a starving pig in fear of it being returned. The Seafood Linguine. This should have been absolutely amazing. The description of it on the menu, baked in a bag, served at the table. Mussels, clams, monkfish, prawns, langoustine, a taste of the sea, filling the air with an unmistakable aroma of fresh seafood cooked to perfection. It wasn't those things. Not one bit. It was a bag of super over-cooked matter, in a chili tomato sauce. Not the fresh pasta I had in mind; or the moist, rich seafood. No sign of monk fish at all. All very dry, all very over-cooked. Disappointment all-round. The Chicken and Parma Ham dish. Oh dear?! I have seen some sad looking dishes in my time. This however, really brought a tear to my eye. Yes, you guessed it, over-cooked. A horrible, congealed, masala sauce drowned the poor thing and to think an Italian Chef put this together? For shame, sir. For Shame! I nearly keeled over, but then, I was not surprised, as I have experience disappointment at this place every time I go. Salt Baked Seabass - Don't get me started! Roast Potatoes, Green Beans, Carrots accompany all the main courses. Silver Served like in the in 70's. Outdated, overpriced stodge that shouldn't be fed to anyone, let alone charged for it. Leathery Roast Potatoes, boiled-to-death carrots and veg. and just, well..... Yuck! It wasn't all bad. The service was better than usual and the wine wasn't poisoning anyone. Service was very charmless, but none-the-less, just ok! I believe Sul Lago has the potential to be a great neighbour-hood restaurant. It sits quietly outside a beautiful village, Woodhouse Gardens. An updated, modern Italian cuisine would go down a real treat here with the right chef on board, they could half the menu and serve quality fresh food at a better price than what they are charging currently. I believe the locals would really take to it. It would be somewhere people would eat every night of the week, instead of just weekends. I hope everyone finds this review helpful, and the owners of the restaurant actually read it and do something about the food, They've not had a change of menu for, well, forever! It's still serves the same over-priced, outdated stodge it did 10 years or more ago. There are so many better restaurants in and around Manchester at half the price of this. Such a terrible waste. My advice, go for a curry instead :)

I found this pub amazing. The food was lovely and the menu was extensive. I went with a party of 12 and two babies, we were all accommodated, the food all came together and was really nice. I will be taking my work colleagues and family there again over Christmas without hesitation. Highly recommended.

best restaurant in north west ,,,exc food ,outstanding service,very clean 5 star ,,if you visit once you well come back for more ,,,,staff are great ,,nice decor.

I recently had a meal with my husband at La Via. We eat out a lot and I can honestly say the food here was excellent and well exceeded our expectations. the staff are friendly and it was on a whole a really pleasant experience. we are definatly going again!

Dined here as part of a function last week.the food was amazing.fresh.tasty..staff so nice.they have a salad bar which is a great addition to a spicy curry. I have been to loads of curry houses over the years and this really is up there.....went again tonight.just come back after having a fab meal. Some really good , original meals...not licenced so you can take exactly what you want to drink...lovely.
