Nothing special. Got the earily evening menu tasted like some of it was warmed from lunchtime. Will not go back there again however that's what we thought on our last visit. Should have learned from our previous experience.

Stanley Gate – OrmskirkFirst time visit, pleasant surroundings .
Halton Castle Inn – OrmskirkWe've been coming since it opened and it's quite simply perfect. Perfect food, perfect service with a smile and perfect surroundings - the quality never varies. What more could you ask for. I would, and have, recommended it to everyone I know.
Boathouse Brasserie – OrmskirkWe have been a number of times now and food and service has been excellent every time. Beautiful surroundings and spotlessly clean.
The Cherry House – OrmskirkExcellent home cooked food. The Landlord and his wife are both chefs and take a great pride in the quality. Rib-eye steak is recommended. The pub also has some top class traditional beers and even sells a traditional Mild. It isn't expensive either.
Heatons Bridge Inn – OrmskirkExcellent restaurant food great staff very friendly and very attentive 10 out of 10 from me.
Peacock Chinese Restaurant – OrmskirkMeal was very nice but marred by having to wait an hour and a quarter for it. We selected an outside table and were told there was a 20 to 30 min wait. This became a one and quarter hour wait. There was no apology or explanation. The sun had long gone down and we were getting cold before the food turned up. Even then 3 meals came and the fourth one took another 10 mins.Totally unacceptable.
The Ship Inn – OrmskirkRecommend the restaurant very highly especially the steak night. Good value also the cream teas in afternoon. They do a good spread for funerals plenty of variety. We recently went to one, that's how we discovered this little gem of a place right along canal. Will be great in summer, we will be regulars now.
Farmers Arms – OrmskirkWas just driving past at lunchtime today. Called in for a quick bite. What a nice surprise it turned out to be. Wide menu for lunchtime. beautifully prepared meals in lovely surroundings overlooking the Leeds Liverpool canal. Will certainly go back again.
The New Scarisbrick Restaurant – OrmskirkVery impressed with the new look. Service was greeted with a friendly smile and food very good. Have recommended this to others and shall be back again.
The New Scarisbrick Restaurant – OrmskirkDreadful Disgusting Food Dirty Cold Place!Took Mum for meal that was completely inedible. Complained to the bar maid and asked to speak to manager but was told he wasn't about. The food was badly cooked and tepid, we had fish and chips and the chips were undercooked, the fish was very greasy and the peas were cold. I was really disappointed! This pub is letting down Lancashire! It could be so much better but it seems like the person or people who own it are past caring. It is dirty, cluttered and shabby, with a complete mismatch of tables and seating etc. It's clear that the place is run on a shoestring, with no quality or care in it's food provision. The Ship is a place to AVOID!
The Ship Inn – Ormskirkfood quality and service is 'fine dining' and very good at that, but let down by awful monotonous loud piped music, blasts of hot air coming from under the seats and large TV screen flickering in the corner. At 'fine dining' prices I was disappointed to be uncomfortable whilst eating what was excellent food.
Pheasant Inn Brewers Fayre – OrmskirkAlways good value lite bites and Thursday steak nights. Good atmosphere with roaring fire in winter.
Farmers Arms and Glasshouse Restaurant – OrmskirkHesketh Arms Rufford Lancashire L40:NOT Recommended Awful Place, Awful Food Awful ServiceWARNING to anyone living around Rufford, not far from Ormskirk, Holmeswood, Mawdesley, Croston or Mere Brow in Lancashire think twice before patronizing the Hesketh Arms Public House
The Hesketh Arms – OrmskirkVisited tonight for the first time. Top class food great enthusiastic staff, great busy atmosphere. Wonderful a lift to the first floor restaurant so I know we can go back again and take Dad easily. Would recommend without concern. Scallops cooked to perfection, duck pink as requested and my husband would have eaten his meal twice at least it was so delicious. Will go there again soon.
The Blue Mallard – OrmskirkHi food is fantastic here staff are so pleasant l realy liked laylo and manwell if you ask for them they spoil you rotten cheese garlic bread to die for very packed all the time good night out.
Quattro’s – OrmskirkThis is a nice pub I go to on a regular basis, nice atmosphere, nice decor and nice people and always good entertainment. Saw a band on there on Friday 13th, (omfg or something they were called) they were really good will watch out for them again. Like to keep up with the local talent! Nice food too.
The Martin Inn – Ormskirkjust stopped at sandpiper for lunch which was very good and in nice surroundings, excellent service and manners from chris who took our order and looked after us and asked if everything was okay, very good value and a place we would recommend. Helen Lancaster
