We fully echo Mr Britton's comments below - great beer, very pleasant surroundings but longer wait for food than expected (pub not that busy), food not hot enough when it eventually arrived. Shame because I think it would otherwise have been excellent. We do think the service could be friendlier and a little more involving, including on arrival.

Love the place but it's always flipping cold (they even provide blankets!) and while the meal was generally good the vegetables had barely seen the pan! The broccoli in particular was so hard it was difficult to even get the fork through the thicker parts. If raw broccoli wasn't edible it would have been inedible! It nearly went back to the kitchen.. Will continue to return but it's disappointing that a pub with such a lovely, and rare, 'vibe' is let down by these easily sorted issues

We enjoyed a lovely meal at The Abingdon Arms on Sunday. The staff were very attentive and friendly and our food was delicious.

This was a slightly mixed experience. Booking a table was easy and I appreciated the reminder the day before. It was good to have a choice of sitting inside or outside. The atmosphere was good with plenty of customers there. The beer was first rate with a good choice. The food came quickly but the roast beef lunches we had could have been hotter. There were an impressive number of vegetables, very well cooked (i.e. not overcooked!). The meat was generous but could have been cooked a little longer as some of it was a little raw for my taste. The service was efficient but could have been a little friendlier.

The pub is lovely with an amazing garden but the food was really disappointing especially at those prices. My roast was mostly cold and clearly not fresh, the beef was cold and tough, only some of the vegetables were hot. It was obvious that it had been under a heat lamp as it came out very quickly too.

We've driven past this pub for several years on our way to Ottmoor RSPB Reserve but only just stopped in the other day for the first time for lunch on our wedding anniversary. Excellent service in a very welcoming atmosphere. The food was very good and also very interesting - Goose Pie is not your every day fare. Will be going back and recommending it to our friends

Four of us had a delicious Sunday lunch. The service was excellent and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. We will certainly visit again soon.

the food was nicely prepared and cooked but the three Sunday roasts that we had could have been a lot hotter but we will definitely come again but will remember to book a table in a lighter part of the restaurant the staff were very friendly and polite.

Four of us had a meal on Saturday lunchtime. The pub was busy, but we were dealt with very efficiently. Our meals were excellent and the catering staff were able to cope with my wife’s gluten free requirements without any trouble. There was a lovely atmosphere and I would certainly recommend it.

Brilliant Sunday lunch - the staff could not have been more welcoming - we had four unexpected friends want to join us and somehow they managed to find a way to seat us altogether. It was so lovely! And the food was excellent!

A great experience as ever. I’ve brought many visitors here over the years, and they always ask for a return visit. Sunday lunch this time, delicious meal beautifully presented, and with the space and time to really enjoy it.

Had another lovely pizza night! Fabulous pizzas, great choices available. Lovely atmosphere. Delightfully timed one pizza night well with an acoustic night, a lovely buzzy evening with a fabulous music background. All in all a fantastic community run local pub!

It is so very refreshing to go to a quiet village pub (or gastro pub) where the staff are utterly charming and thoughtful, and who keep an eye out for what is going on (or not). I have not been here for a few years, but the food was very good and imaginative - there's a really good country pub chef (Eva) in charge of the ovens ! Our meal was very reasonably priced, along with a fairly modest and unpretentious wine list which was really very fairly priced. (A professional ' wine adviser' could add dramatically to the variety/quality of wines on offer, without necessarily increasing prices. ) New lavatories (now inside the pub at obvious great cost - the 21st century intrudes) add important updating to an old building, but curiously they seem a bit unbalanced in style, starting with the medium-oak doors. This lovely community-owned country pub is a great local asset, but its style is a bit confused: lovely old building, but with a risk of harming its charm and character by the style of its modernisation. All in all, one day it could become Oxford's best rival to the 'Sir Charles Napier' at Chinnor.

Very friendly and accommodating, especially as we were late, having lost a dog! The food was also good. Thank you.
