This was comfortably the worst meal and service I have ever experienced. The meals did not arrive together. The waiter didn't concentrate on getting the order correct - he just didn't care at all. 3 separate steak sauces were only very slightly lukewarm. No apology or apparent interest - after warming up they were barely any warmer but the steak was by now cold. The manager took nearly ten minutes to arrive and although he offered free deserts he seemed to be someone who was fed up with dealing with constant complaints. I will not be going there again.

Villandry Foodstore and Bistrot – Bicester

The manager and other members of staff in this pub are abusive and not customer friendly, it is not worth visiting this pub under its current management. AVOID THIS PUB.

I have just spent a most uncomfortable evening, not to mention a considerable amount of money for an evening at this 'pub' and would ask readers to seriously reconsider before visiting it themselves. A few points... The restaurant was extremely cold. One of our party kept her coat - and boots - on all evening. When we mentioned this to the waitress we were told that other diners would be arriving shortly and that the place would 'warm up soon'. We were charged over £7 for a 250ml glass of average house wine and over £4 for a glass of orange and soda. The food was fairly dire, over-salted and almost all directly from the freezer. From my seat I had a clear view of the kitchens which were, at all times, nothing more than serving areas with absolutely no evidence of food being freshly cooked. One saving grace - as the deserts were all very heavy I asked for some fresh fruit. This arrived and was well presented. On a Monday evening - albeit before Christmas - and with over half the resaurant empty, the only 'choice' was the 'Christmas meal' at over £25. Being part of a small group of colleagues and, being at the Moon and Sixpence as a result of the arrangements of a fellow colleague, it felt very uncomfortable complaining on the spot. This will not prevent me from voicing my concerns to the management at the earliest opportunity

What a yummy addition to East Oxford! Beautifully delicious food at moderate prices, some nice inexpensive wine too. For ladies who lunch there is a menu for £5.95 - main course and a drink (forget about coke - anything - beer, house wine, coffee...... They have a good selection of vegetarian dishes including a stuffed potato pancake which could convert anyone. My favourite main dish is crab, no; chicken, no; prawn, no ..........oh hell! Just go there and try them all and a chocolate pud TO DIE FOR........ ps. Did I mention the flamingos in the women's lavatory...

Food is traditional pub food. Excellent portions and get value for money. Food is really nice and pub is lovely especially now as the fire is always lit and its real. Its cozy and friendly and everyone makes you feel welcome. Highly recommend the homemade chili or steak and kidney pie

Over the last couple of years the Cori restaurant has become our little ray of sunshine. As the English Summers go from bad to worse and the winters get wetter and more miserable, our family has found that a meal at the Cori with Angelo and his family is an ideal tonic. Within minutes of entering the restaurant, a wave of bonhomie washes over you and you feel as if you could be seating in a coast-side Bistro out of the sun with the Mediterranean gently lapping up the beach outside. Nowhere other than the Mediterranean are you given such a welcome. The restaurant's food, which is superb, is matched by Angelo's hospitality and attention to your every whim and fancy. By the end of the meal, with the a glass or two of limoncello consumed, the only downside is that when you walk out of the restaurant it is not the azure blue sea that awaits you but another dismal day in Banbury. We had promised to keep this little paradise to our family, but feel guilty keeping the secret. The Gregory Family

Top quality authentic Thai food from this delightful owner run restaurant. A well kept secret!

Excellent gluten-free food if you make sure you talk to the Chef!! I have a condition called "coeliac's", which means eating gluten (anything made from, or contaminated with wheat, barley or rye) makes me poorly and damages my guts. I was not expecting to find anything to eat when a group of us went to The Chequers...fortunately, I spoke to the Chef, who prepared a special swordfish steak in a chilli & lime sauce with new potatoes & veg, which was mouthwateringly delicious. I'll be back there next time I'm in the area, knowing I can get more than just a baked potato to eat!

Great food, reasonably priced, impeccable service. Great for a light lunch.

Use to go into the Granary quite often but stopped due to the place being abit dirty and untidy. There is always a stuffy smell in there and wonky tables. The service is slow and the floor could do with a good clean. However, the food isn't that bad and the scones are homemade. Pity, they can't get their act together.

Situated in the old centre of Woodstock, La Galleria offers fabulously authentic Italian food in lovely surroundings, including a courtyard for outside dining in the summer. The service, however, has been hit and miss. Sometimes, there has been no problem, but on several occasions now, the excellent food has been marred somewhat by the rudeness of the waiting staff, who have on occasion been surly and pedantic (I'm not sure some of them quite understand the notion of hospitality). It is a shame that this lets down an otherwise amazing restaurant.

The Rose and Crown in Oxford's lovely North Parade Avenue may be slightly off the beaten track but this is only to its advantage, as it's a lovely old-world pub offering good value for money, classic dishes, friendly service and pleasant (if not spacious) surroundings. The Rose and Crown is more of a lunch pub due to its size and surroundings, but its well-done classics, including steaks, omelettes, sausages and salads etc are delicious, generous and cheap. A little gem!

Three friends and I went to La Manoir last Friday for lunch to celebrate one of my friends 50th birthday. What a lovely place to do that. We arrived early for our table but were shown through to the lovely lounge area where we enjoyed drinks and really unusual/imaginative hors d'oeuvres and olives. We were then shown through to the lovely conservatory dining room where we enjoyed the 10 course taster lunch. Every course was delicious and served by really charming staff. They described the course to us as it was presented so we knew exactly what we were eating, and also answered any questions we had. They were very attentive with the wine/water refills but we never felt like we were being crowded. We finished off the meal with a selection of cheese from the most amazing cheese board I have ever seen. We then wandered in the beautiful gardens, where all the fresh produce for the restaurant is grown. We were there from 12.15 until about 4.30 and had a really lovely time. I would recommend this eating experience to anyone. It is the place for a special as it is not cheap, but a real treat to have now and then.

Go to Raj or Curry Paradise instead. This place looks ok but the food in my opinion was poor - felt like I had wasted my money. Friends were also unhappy - will never go here again and nor should anyone with a bit of commonsense.

Despite the fairly drab interior San Carlo produces good quality food with all the usual suspects you'd expect from an Italian. Visiting on a Monday, I felt a bit self-conscious being the only diner in the restaurant. Staff were efficient and friendly.

Pizza Calzone – Banbury

Despite the rave reviews, the delightful interior, the traditional dress of the staff the food doesn't live up to the expectation. Having visited twice I found the coconut prawns bland, the chicken satay lacking and the pad thai oily. Great environment and friendly staff but shame the food isn't quite up to the hype.

Thai Orchid – Banbury

WITHOUT PREJUDICE. ONE OF THE MOST AGGRESSIVE ENCOUNTERS OF CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED. WARNING DO NOT GO THERE.

Shaan is the best Indian restaurant in Oxfordshire, Whitney. The food is delicious and appetizing. It is also very presentable. The staff make you very welcomed once you walk through the doors. I would recommend this restaurant to others.
