Food was very nice but sadly the service was disappointing. We made a booking online but when we turned up they did not have a record of the booking and said they hadn't checked their online system (!). Service was generally slow. A real shame as the food was nice and the staff were friendly.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe have driven from Midhurst to the A3 Petersfield direction, passed The Half Moon many times. Never stopped. Yesterday we decided to book for lunch with our friends. The staff were lovely, happy, very friendly. The young man (from Albania?) was wonderful! Great menu, varied and very reasonable. We met at 1230 and left at 1540! Lovely surroundings. We will be back soon!
The Half Moon – Petersfield2nd time we have visited and both times we have really enjoyed our meals. Staff are very friendly and service just right. We visit family in Waterlooville and found this pub by chance. We will continue to pop in for supper all the time we get a good experience.

The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe had a excellent stay at The half Moon . Nice large Bedroom Friendly helpfull staff.It was our wedding annerversary so we both had the special. I had tuna and Salad with a side of chips and my husband had Steak pie and mustard mash with veg. All very tasty.Followed by the cheese board and I had home made ice cream.We had wine. Not cheap but enjoyed.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldHad a meal here recently as passing through after a nice day out but sadly disappointed. We have been here before and really enjoyed it. Staff were all lovely and helpful and the location is beautiful with their garden. The food was really salty and disappointing, we had 3 kids meals which were covered in salt and the burger was burnt. I had sausage and mustard mash with onion gravy and yet again it was covered in salt to the point you could see it all over the sausages and gravy. My parter had steak and it was nicely cooked just cold. Service itself was rather slow and the children got very hungry which then made it worse when they couldn't eat their meals as they could not handle the amount of salt.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldGreat menu, I’m usually quite picky but I was literally spoilt for choice. Had the pie and it was delicious. Definitely want to return for another meal and to make room for pudding! Clean and nice staff too.

Thankfully Queens Head down the round were more than accommodating with a late booking. Would highly recommend them instead of here!

The Half Moon – PetersfieldOur first visit. We had high expectations. Food was really delicious! Well done chef! Price was fair as well. Staff were pleasant and helpful. We shall certainly return.... ....Our lunch though was, sadly, almost ruined by the unexpected appearance of a large wedding party which virtually crowded us out. We left before our dessert. Please tell would-be customers if a wedding is scheduled so that a booking can be made on another day. Thanks, J & R

We both thoroughly enjoyed it, well cooked and the vegetables that went with it were not something we had come across before but they worked very well. Service was very good and we will definitely be back.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldDone a last minute booking with the wife and daughter for lunch..had the winter menu and I had the mussels to start with and the girls has the camenbert for two..I had the fish for main aslo and the girls both had something different,spinach and chicken curry and the Indian styled beef burger.and we all had something different for pudding.i was naughty and had the lemon marang with custard,my favourite.have to say the food was great and the staff wonderful.would use them again and will..thank you to all the staff there for making our afternoon trip there a happy one,and to the young guy who served us.
The Half Moon – PetersfieldWe came to the Half moon yesterday with our parents. We all had the Sunday roast , either beef, lamb or pork , it was delicious. My lamb was perfectly cooked , the roast spuds were really good with plenty of veg and a tasty yorkshire pud to top it off. The desserts were also delicious. The staff here are very polite and did a great job. Reasonably priced as well.
