I have eaten at many of the best Michelin starred restaurants in Europe and can genuinely say that 1885 is the best restaurant in the Halifax area, now supplemented by their own great pub food next door.

Our best ever meal. Great atmosphere, warm and comfortable. Staff were friendly, and knowledgeable. Food was edgy, and each course delivered. A successful balance found between modern and traditional. We happily travel for an hour and a half to visit this place.

Dine here 2 weeks ago after calling in on the of chance they might have a table. Found us a table straight away, food and service was excellent but a bit pricey I thought and very quite atmosphere.

Ate here for the first time last week after several recommendations. Had there Early bird menu which was fantastic value for money and included a bottle of wine! Wonderful food and service with a warm, friendly, bustling atmosphere. 10 out of 10!!

We risked a trip into Yorkshire from Gods Country ( Lancashire) last night 14 October. It was a excellent choice of venue and everything about the occasion was 10/10. We will return !.
