I've been to Bacaro plenty of times. It's a nice place to have a very nice pizza and some wine, however on my last visit I decided to try the tapas. Now tapas can quite frequently leave you hungry and disappointed but I have to say the tapas on offer at Bacaro are particularly poor value. We had the 6 for £16 "deal". I appreciate there is a high mark up on food prices in restaurants but I'd be amazed if the food costs approached £4! The 6 tapas were to be shared between 2 but there was so little food on offer I had them all and we had to order another pizza! So when next visiting Bacaro, remember, pizza and wine and you'll be fine, tapas and beer, you'll wish you weren't here!

Visited Bacaro for the first time on Thursday evening, both myself and partner enjoyed the food. Has a selection of Tapas to start which were delightful and both had a pizza as a main, very tasty. I'm visiting again on Saturday for a hen night so know I will be in for a treat.Lisa St. Annes

4 of us went to Bacaro on Saturday evening 5/11/11 and thought it was excellent. Perfectly cooked fresh pizza and pasta with a bottle of house red for £10. The food is better than many pricey Italian restaurants in central Manchester. Lovely.

I visited bacaros for a take away pizza to find when getting it home it was near enough raw. The so called chef couldn't put a salad together if asked. Not going back again in fear of food poisoning.

Gorgeous pizza, nice thin crust & very tasty. Were only £5 each during Happy Hour 5-7. Service was good, cute decor. Good range of veggie pizzas & salads as well but no veggie pasta!! Probably just an oversight but it's a shame.

Booked for our group of 15 a minimum of 3 weeks in advance. Freed up a table for 4 as soon as it was needed for other clients, as our group had regrettably reduced to 11 on the day. We received 4 out of 5 pizzas required for 1 table, and the final pizza quite some time after (though 2 enquiries/reminders were made about it). My other table of 6 waited an hour for their pizzas and pasta, even though the couple and child on our "freed" table were served, had eaten and their table being cleaned before our second table was served. "We fitted in the smaller order" I was advised. The offer I had booked for was very quickly made available to us when I advised the staff that it was on the basis of that offer when I had made the booking direct with Kevin. I asked for the bill 3 times, though by then there literally was no-one else in the restaurant. To add insult to injury £2.40-odd had been overcharged to the bill. A small amount in the scheme of things - if the food had been good and the service great. I personally went through all of these points directly with Kevin on the next day (he wasn't on duty on the evening). His response was that "he'd looked at the cctv tape that morning, and didn't want me and my friends to go again, as we had been 'a pain in the bum', and for the spend (£82.55) more money could have been taken from clients "queueing"! His response to my enquiry as to why the staff felt we had been so difficult - bearing in mind we are a group of 50s and 60s, mostly retired, and not prone to dancing on the tables - was that 2 of The party had arrived 20 mins early and done puzzles, and one other person had only eaten her topping, ie none of the base.. The 2 early arrivals did have a drink in front of each of them when I arrived (though admittedly a bottle of water for one @ £2). So I'll take my "pain in the bum" friends which are frequenly 15 to 19 diners and take my trade where the customer might be a little appreciated.

I know Kevin well, and his reputation for producing top class authentic Italian food at an affordable price is undisputed..My deceased brother Andreu and myself have dined with him frequently..It is my intention to dine with him again once settled after working in Huelva Spain..

Had a fantastic pizza and beer for under £6 in this new cool pizzeria in St.Annes. Top Class
