11 of us went to Barrs Court for Mother's Day lunch. The service was exceptional. The staff were very friendly and helpful and once we had ordered, the food came very quickly. As is was a Sunday they were offering a choice of all 4 of the main roast dinners (beef, pork, lamb and turkey) plus a vegetarian dish. Nobody at our table was disappointed and every plate was cleared! (Even the kids and they can be pretty fussy). Real home cooking and no scrimping on the portions! As for the deserts, fantastic whether you're a chocoholic or like something a bit more basic. We will all definitely be going back again. Probably very soon!

first thing i noticed was the building, its structure is very beautiful inside and out. the food was served quickly by very kind and courteous staff all very neatly and clean to look at and the food was impeccable, every drink was served served quickly and efficiently and my partner commented on the real ale saying it was perfect! all in all a delightful little pub which i will be revisiting!
Local Couple
The pub has a great new management team that took over this once run down pun in October 2005. Me and my partner had stopped visiting The Barrs Court after the last owners took over as the place was very dirty and there was never any beer! However after hearing it had been taken over and the food was meant to be good we visited the pub and had a great meal. The pub itself was very different with it being very clean and having refurbished part of the pub into a restaurant area. The food itself was very good and not what you would expect for pub grub. This was better! The homemade lasagne was beautiful and cajun chicken skewers were good. Overall we were amazed in the transformation of this pub.
Barrs Court Barn
This pub has just been taken under new ownership. The menu is just your normal bar food (sausages & mash, lasagna, pie & chips etc) but is very good and very reasonably priced. They have a music quiz on a Sunday, general knowledge quiz on a Monday, karaoke on a Tuesday. Every Month one of the blokes who runs the Soul train comes in and Dj's for the night and it is a very good night! The atmosphere is very friendly and the ages of the customers range from 18 -70 so really it suits everyone.
