Visited for a meal since new management! Good atmosphere and furnishings. Excellent and attentive service. All our party were pleased with their own meals. Generous portions, excellent home-cooked and tasty food in all courses! Will certainly be going again soon and recommending friends to dine

None of the previous comments relate to the present management. Not a patch on what it used to be. Mediocre food at inflated prices with 3rd rate entertainment which has the effect of driving serious diners out.

I haven’t been here since the refurbishment and I was certainly impressed, the place looks fab and the food and service is excellent! I am sure I am going to become a regular here from now on!!!

After being recommended by a friend we ate at the bay horse. The quality of the food was exceptional and the service and staff were also very good. would recommend it to anyone wanting good quality home cooked food with a smile. Since then it has undergone renovations with a new dinning and bar area. Looks amazing. good job

The food was ok. If you like bland, undercooked food. I went outside for a ciggie and noticed the chefs doing the same over a fence that looked into the back opf the kitchen. They then went back in and starting chopping without washing their hands! Looking over the fence i could see some fish in some greasy water in a pan outside witha lef and a ciggie butt floating on top. I hope this isn't where my fish came from. I had heard good things about this place but it's behind the scenes hygiene that matters. I suggest a visit from the health officer.

I visited this restaurant twice in the last few weeks and although initially i thought it was a little expensive the quality and enjoyment of the food made it worthwhile . the chicken liver starter was excellent. The sauces are also exceptional and the apple & pineapple crumble for desert was a generous home made portion & although it wasn't crumbly having probably been heated up in a microwave it was still very enjoyable. On Saturday evenings patience can be required before finally getting a table but again the wait is worthwhile.

I have eaten at the Bay Horse Inn regularly over the last 5 years and i have to say it has always been fantastic apart from the feeling i was being rushed... I was asked countless times to move from the table even when I had only just finished my meal! Although this was an annoyance i continued to dine there and when I returned a few weeks ago I noticed it had changed hands, I had the pleasure of meeting the new owners who were very nice people! Not only were the owners lovely but the staff(alot of whom are the same old faces) were also a joy to be served by and very professional. The whole atmosphere has changed for the better, It was very pleasant and i felt comfortable, certainly not rushed. The food was devine! I had the Garlic prawns to start and the "Bay Fillet" for my main course! it was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately I couldn't manage a dessert however they looked delicious! Anyone who has been put off by the change over, Dint think twice about going because in my experience is absolutely brilliant...if not better!!
Bay Horse Inn
My friends and I have been regular visitors to the Bay Horse for the last 5 years. We visited Wednesday 5th September knowing that the restaurant was under new ownership, prepared to "give it a try". What a disappointment!! For my main course I had Lamb fillet on a bed of mash. The mash had several lumps of uncooked potato and the lamb was 5 small strips which were bland. For dessert I had Tiramisu. It tasted like the Bouidoir biscuits had been dipped in a very watery coffee solution. Needless to say I did not eat this. My friends couldn't believe I was leaving it, as I am a "SWEET FREAK" but when they tasted it, they knew why. I am really sorry to say that the waitresses were not as organised as they were under the guidance of the former owner Marie. We wish we knew where they had moved to, as we will, unfortunately, not be going back. A marvellous restaurant which has now really dropped down in both food and service.
