Bistrot Verite for me is the best restaurant in the area, the anticipation of the menu is enough to set my tastebuds drooling. The variety is so tempting I usually have great trouble deciding on my choice,. The last time I had pasta which was coated with a most delicious sauce with large chunks of smoked haddock stirred through it. I was so full but could not resist a desert and decided to go for Rum Baba which was absolutely delicious. I

The food here is great! even there desserts are homemade which is always a good sign (good wine too), we get the train from Crosby because there aren't any decent restaurants there. Yes it's a little noisy..but if you can't beat them.....

The staff are so professional and welcoming and obviously enjoy there jobs, the food was world class.
A real treat, it is not often you get a place with a relaxing ambiance, good food, good wine and good service this place has the lot . If you have not visited its a must!

Visited bistro verite on 5.3.11 for my husband's birthday, and was not disappointed. Menu was original,taking all 6 of us ages to decide, and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything.The service was also excellent.Can't wait to return.

Me and my partner recently went to Bistrot Verite for our anniversary and enjoyed a fantastic meal.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and were attentive to our needs. As this was a special occasion we wanted a special wine and the waiter was only too happy to help us choose.
With regards to the food, there is an obvious French theme to the menu, the chef here has been able to bring classic French food into an English village, furthermore he has done it extremely well. My partner and I shared a Chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection. The desserts were also to die for, the crème brulee being my favourite.
Overall I would rate this as high as any other restaurant in the area. The food, service and the general ambience was perfect for our anniversary and both my partner and I would recommend this to anyone.
Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I arrived at Bistrot Verite without a booking late one warm, Friday evening. Although the restaurant was full, we were offered a table outside and enjoyed the most wonderful dining experience. Service and food were excellent, and we were made very welcome. We are planning a return trip on our Anniversary later this month and this time we intend to book.

I had heard many good things about Bistrot Verite and they were all absolutely right. The atmosphere, service, staff and of course the most important part ,the food ,was absolutely delicious. I had "Creamy smoked haddock & spinach gratin which was to die for you. It was accompanied by the best new potatoes and vegetables I had eaten in a long time ,so much so I finished the lot and had no room for a dessert.
Good excuse to return!!
