Aug 2007. This was the third time we have been this year, and every time everything has been excellent.

Nov 2006. My wife and I visited on our wedding anniversary. The food was of excellent quality, the restaurant ambience extremely pleasant, and the service delightfully friendly and helpful. My wife declared that it was the best meal she had had for years (and ever, in this region) and we recommend this hotel as the best place to go for a meal in this region. Bob and Heather Arbin.

March 2006. Very friendly Establishment: nothing was too much trouble. Food was particularly excellent.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, the most recent being May 2008. We are amazed at the quality of the food and service at this hotel and restaurant. It is a fantastic place and we would highly recommend it. Bob Byron and family, Poole, Dorset.

I don't usually write these review things, but this hotel compelled me to. We stayed in May 2008. The room rates suggest that this is a run-of-the-mill bed and breakfast. But it turned out to be one of the best hotels (in terms of food and service) we have stayed in. The food, service and hospitality were very high quality - the sort you find in top 5 star hotels around the world. At the moment, it seems to be an unknown gem and it is easy to book rooms and tables. But I think it is only a question of time before people hear about it and it will become impossible to book. Go now before the "foodie" crowds find out about it.

We have stayed a few times, most recently in May 2008. As always we had a really friendly welcome and we really like the recent improvements with the new bathrooms and new room layouts. The food was delicious, and impossible to fault, as always. We had a very relaxing stay, in peaceful surroundings. It is also very near a sandy surfing beach (which was great for our 2 boys.) As ever, we received a very warm welcome from the team at Brocksmoor, who looked after us very well. I was impressed by the work that's been carried out, particularly on the family rooms, and we were certainly very comfortable. The food we had during the weekend was all very, very good, from the light(ish) lunch on Saturday, which was well received after our long journey, the delicious dinner on Saturday night (the menu for which provided the biggest decision making challenge of the weekend), the great full English breakfast and the splendid Sunday roast. Suffice to say that I did not need feeding on Sunday evening or indeed much of Monday! I remembered the well kept Betty Stoggs bitter from our last stay and this hit the spot on more than one occasion during the weekend. The surfing (well actually paddling in my case) and beach cricket down the road at Widemouth Bay served to sharpen my appetite and enabled me to make full use of the hotel's catering facilities. We're looking forward to our next visit.
