Visited with seven friends for a birthday meal and received excellent service and very good food. Especially enjoyed the herb-encrusted lamb. Worth trying.

I have to say i was very surprised by the positive comments on here. I have a different view unfortunately...It was the first (and last) time we had been to Marinetti and were hoping for more...we ordered the tomato bread (pizza) to eat whilst looking at the menu....we both wanted pate (not available) so decided just to order main course.we were still eating the tomato bread when the main arrived and the bread was whisked away, disgraceful!...my friend had chicken mushroom and pasta which to be quite honest could easily have come from a jar.....I had a steak Diane....the steak was beautifully cooked, exactly as I had asked (medium rare) however the sauce was bland to the point of being almost invisible....the vegetables that came with the steak were overcooked......I left most of my meal and the waitresses did comment so I told her the problem which fell on deaf ears, nothing was said so what was the point in her commenting? The restaurant looks rather dated and the toilets are up lots and lots of stairs which is off putting as it is also freezing when you get there...takes you some time to warm up again when you get back to your table......overall I would give this restaurant 2/10 and that is only because the wine was nice and my steak was cooked perfectly

have enjoyed a nice meal here, nothing too fantastic though. I walked past before I went to eat in the restaurant and they really need to do something about having their staff sat outside the front door smoking.....it did not give a good impression !

Exceptional - Cafe Marinetti quite simply over achieves on every level! The smile on (head chef and owner) Mario's face as he surveys his customers appreciating all that is good about Italian food exemplifies his family's true passion for delivering a marvellous dining experience. We went last weekend and again for lunch this week. Too much of a good thing? Never!!

We had our annual dinner for 37 of us and couldn't have wished for a better evening. The welcome was warm, the staff attentive and the clean plates said it all. We had the upstairs room to ourselves and for a group of this size to be so cheerful and complimentary at the end of the evening is a real tribute to Cafe Marinetti.

Can I just say that this place is one of the nicest places I have ever had the pleasure in visiting, the warm friendly atmosphere means that you can enjoy a bite to eat in your lunch hour or spend a great evening enjoying delicious fresh food, ladies if you want to dine alone in your lunch hour and feel comfortable come to this restaurant and enjoy the great food and excellent value for money!!! I loved my evening here. I have been many times and the food is always amazing, along with excellent service and a lovely atmosphere. Everything you need for an enjoyable meal. It is definitely worth trying, you wont be disappointed.

The food was excellent but there was room for improvement in other areas. The ambience was weakened by the presence of a huge TV screen - more appropriate to a pub than a restaurant. The service didn't impress; we (two women) were ignored for a good five minutes on arrival until a couple (man and woman) came in and a waiter went straight to them, still ignoring us. Our mains arrived within seconds of our finishing our starters then, when we asked for a pause before considering dessert, we were presented with the bill. I'd give it another try because of the quality of the food but, all things considered, this is looking like a restaurant that just doesn't welcome unaccompanied women. Pity, because it could be so very good.

Extremely enjoyable evening had last Saturday. Food was delicious, excellent pauses between courses , friendly staff and £65 between two for 3-course + bottle of wine was v. good value.

The best Italian food outside of Italy. Excellent service and good value for money. Give it a try, you won't be dissapointed.
