We went here on Saturday night, unsure what to expect. However, what a treat. I must firstly mention the service, which was excellent - happy, well mannered staff. Then the food. Up there with one of the best dining experiences i've had. The food was fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. As a vegetarian i often struggle for choice and find food bland. Not here. Gratin d'aubergine was delicious and my partner had steak and french fries, steak that didn't need a steak knife it was so tender. A highly enjoyable meal, can't wait to go back!

I came to cafe rouge valentines night and i would strongly reccommend this restaurant to friends back at home in liverpool. The food was delcious and the service was excellent. (wine is superb and the price too!). Next time I'm back in manchester i'll be paying a visit back to cafe rouge.

what a wonderfull atmosphere . food was superb our waitress was simone. a delightfull girl made us feel completely at ease in a restaurant which we have never visited before. we will be returning soon.

Wow, I came here a year ago and was appalled at the state this restaurant had become and vowed never to come again, when a friend suggested going last week I argued strongly but lost. Was I surprised!!!. Apparently a new manager has come in and boy is he working wonders, It's like being in a completely different restaurant. The menu is the same, but that's where it stops.the Gone are the sullen, I'm here for the money, faces of staff, the bored, 'ugly' people, replaced by new, fresh,I enjoy my job, people. Newly refurbished, this restaurant looks like the Cafe Rouge of old, the Cafe Rouge that personified good service and value for money. We were served by Anneli, a lovely Swedish girl, who was charming, beautiful and a fantastic waitress, we didn't want for anything. Style, Diversification, Ability, Comfort, this restaurant has it all Once again, a new manager, a new restaurant, a new beginning..... Vive Cafe Rouge!!!

Fantastic, good food, good company, good wine - recommend the pinot noir. our waitress was friendly and helpful, a lot of restaurants would do well to meet these standards.

Had lunch there this week ( 12/02/03 )and enjoyed the whole event, the only thing I would suggest that Cafe Rouge needs to focus on is the food preparation. The meal was lovely it would have been even better if it was hot as opposed to warm. No I did not ask that the meal be heated up (so to speak) as no patron should be expected to request such a thing.
