I moved to Leeds from Austin TX summer of '09, and after trying a few restaurants that purported to be Southwestern, finally found bliss and a real Margarita at Caliente Cafe. The owner and staff were friendly, the wait long-but worth it. I've traveled a lot throughout central Mexico and thought the food tasted Oaxacann--I was surprised when the owner said he'd been to Oaxaca for training! The food is divine, a real treat-if you live in the area, try it some time or you'll be missing out.

This was altogether one of the best meals i have had in a long time. The service is quick and very polite. The food is authentic and is very reasonably priced especially considering the potion size. By far the best Mexican restaurant i have been to.

Rarely feel motivated to write a review but I feel compelled to recommend this place purely for the lovely food and friendly and attentive service. Tasty plentiful food, lots of choice, came in good time was the perfect temp etc. I am refreshed, I object to paying over the odds for mediocre food just because a place has lots of glass and chrome. It is because it doesn’t have such fripperies that it can provide top notch food and such a reasonable price, not because the food or service are anything but excellent.

I've walked past this pace 100 times and never thought about going in. It seems to be empty most of the time and the restaurant doesn't look that appealing. But. the other night myself and some friends had walked from town to Headingley, we wanted a meal so we thought "why not." The ambiance isn't great, but it isn't bad, the service was good. When I ordered the food I thought "oh no" the menu was covered in (c) and TM marks and everything had a pseudonym. I was expecting a load of old slop. But no! My enchiladas were outstandingly good. My friends also raved about their food and I will definitely be going back. This place's food is 100 times better than the cactus lounge!
