NOT Recommended! I have just returned from Citrus having had my worse experience of a restaurant for a long time. The Last time I ate at Citrus, maybe 4-5 months ago the Sunday roast was faultless. Obviously freshly cooked food cooked beautifully. Today it was pitiful. The roast chicken had not been roasted, it was mini fillets reheated. The were dry and tough. The Yorkshire puddings were from frozen, the roast potatoes were boiled then fried on one side. The only veg was carrot, nothing green. It looked terrible and tasted....well it wasn't good. Service was fine though. I was really disappointed and will not be going back.

Having just left after sitting in a badly furnished room with dirty floor and dirty tablecloths, being served a meat dish in place of a vegetarian order and finally being served uncooked rice i really feel that you are exposing your self to scathing criticism and damage to your reputation by continuing to promote the place. Apparently they recently changed hands and i would hate for a poor, unsuspecting customer, visiting in good faith, to be seduced by a legacy of good reviews that are wholly down to the merits of the previous owner. You are doing the general publisc a disservice by continuing to recommend this terrible place. In summary you message should be: Citrus: Bad food, bad service, bad atmosphere, bad idea. If you want a nice meal in good surroundings and good service then avoid at all costs.

â€œAVOID - bad service, bad food, bad atmosphere, uncleanâ€ The risotto on the menu had a (V) beside it so I was surprised when it came with bacon in it. I politely pointed this out and the staff insisted on re-checking the menu as they didn't seen to believe me. The risotto they replaced it with was not cooked properly. The tablecloth had stains on it and the table beside us had some odd brown mush smeared beneath the floor. It was also freezing inside. I definitely won't be going back.

I have eaten at citrus on many occasions and have never been disappointed, the food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and attentive, there is a great atmosphere about the place. The new management have got it right, highly recommended

I was very pleasantly surprised on my first visit to 'Citrus' for about a year. The new management team have made a real difference to the restaurant & lounge bar. The food was excellent, service good (and cheerful !!), the prices sensible & and all round good atmosphere. Also took the opportunity to have a few beers in the lounge bar (upstairs) & was amazed at the number of different beers on sale ! Again sensible prices and a very pleasant. atmosphere. Highly recommended !!

Staff weren't on task...obviously distracted by something else. The management when speaking to them appeared professional and happy to provide us freebies when we complained, yet were otherwise unprofessional and otherwise engaged (in relation to the tuning of the staff/restaurant). It seems a little odd that I have wanted to put this up on several sites since my visit last week. and have found reviews by a 'jo' on all sites around the same time period. I'm assuming 'she' is one of the new managers. I would not recommend this restaurant/

just got back from a lovely meal at Citrus in Headingley. I'd heard it had recently changed hands and was back on form. The food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely be going back again!

When I heard Citrus in headingley had changed hands I was excited to see what it had to offer as over the last few years I feel that it was lacked good food and service. I was overwhelmed by the service and food which I experienced when I went for dinner last night. There was a great atmosphere and warm ambience, and with the fantastic cocktails flowing, it made for a truly brilliant night. Although in the heart of student city, Citrus has become a place for all, and with an exciting new refurbishment taking place on the building upstairs, I'm sure Citrus will only continue to thrive, so watch this space!

Had the most fantastic meal here with my boyfriend last weekend. We've visited a couple of times before and have always found the food to be outstanding. It does get very busy in here so there isn't always the space to feel like you're having an intimate meal-it can be very noisy and you are very close to your neighbours, but that shouldn't detract too much from the overall feel of the place.

Been going to citrus since it first opened, and still love the place. Great music, great food & good service. The upstairs bar is superb now its been done up. Cool sofas & armchairs & wicked cocktails. Breakfasts through to Italian or Asian citrus does it all. Congrats to all on the award for best value restaurant in the Leeds restaurant awards 05/06.
