Went to Elude for dinner on a Friday night with my wife. Plenty of style but a sadly lacking in substance. The waiter/waitress who greeted us were lovely but seemed to disagree on which wines were available by the glass. When the meal arrived my ribeye steak wasn't great - too much gristle and a little bitter - while my wife's poached chicken was too dry. The biggest disappointment was the dessert. My strawberry terrine was simply a bowl of sugary strawberries with a dollop of ice cream. My wife's chocolate mousse hadn't been allowed to set properly, so was essentially a thick chocolate soup.
We're not food experts but we know enough to expect better - especially for the prices charged!
This could be a great addition to the restaurant scene in Liverpool - they just need a little more staff training and a new chef. Perhaps they could have concentrated on getting the basics right before they splashed out on the decor and lighting!

Fantastic secluded location, first class staff and wonderful food! It was our first visit to Elude so we were new to the restaurant and a little dubious about the location (and the fact that the taxi did not know were he was going!). All our worries soon disappeared when we got out of the taxi and were greeted by the m'd who escorted us into the bar. The staff were friendly, courteous whilst very cheerful and helpful. The manager was a joy and made us feel as if we were the only diners in the place - despite the restaurant looking quite full. The choice of food was varied and as we are big lovers of seafood and pasta - the fish options were the most obvious choice. It was all great value for money and we are looking forward to returning and sampling the pasta that is soon to be added.

A Real Discovery ... located a stone's throw away from where Peel plan on building their £130M International Trade Centre, this restaurant looks as if it will soon be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Chinese trade. Although the interior is not vast, the space is intimate and the bar is very comfortable. The staff are very particular and their attention-to-detail is something that is rare to find in Liverpool. Our food was good and although the presentation could have been improved a little, the portions were very generous and the food was delicious.

Recommended by a colleague, my girlfriends and I had a great night here a few weeks ago. The service and food was spot on and as there is a lounge-bar and a restaurant we ended up spending all night there! Will definitely be going again soon!

Superb Night! Came her a couple of weeks ago. Just outside the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Was warmly welcomed at the door by Luke the maitre d' and shown to our seats in the lounge bar. All the wines are reasonably priced considering the venue and with Luke's recommendation we started off with a bottle of the San Floriano. After ordering we were shown up to the restaurant which was very romantic with mood lighting and lots of candles and fresh flowers. The service was second to none - from ensuring we were sat comfortably, to laying the napkins on our lap - we were very well looked after despite the restaurant being very busy. Overall it was a great night and we will be going back soon!

Don't bother! Sat in bar given wine list then ignored for
15 minutes by 3 different staff when trying to order.
Give your cash to another place who value your custom with
Decent service rather than all style and no substance. Walked
Out and managers excuse was did not see me as busy - says
It all as only another couple and a party of 4 in there.
Overall appears amateurish and taking custom for granted.

i got taken for a surprise by my partner and was not disappointed.on driving down an alley way in liverpool docks my first comment was "if this is a kebab house i will kill you!" couldn't have been further off the mark.the decor is amazing, the service is brilliant and the food delicious.we mention the pre elude offer and were told just to choose any courses from the main menu.there was an amazing singer on that added to the atmosphere and i can honestly say i cant remember when i enjoyed a night more, intimate and beautiful i would defo recommend elude to everyone, i will be going back asap

I think this place must have gone downhill since previous reviews. The food was nice, but overpriced and the menu is too limited. The location isn't great if you want to go on anywhere and it was empty and lacked any atmosphere as a result. Service quite good but not worth the money in my opinion. There are better choices in town.

DO NOT GO!!!
We went with my boyfriend parents, service was terrible, had to flag staff for attention, the mains did not come with any sides at all, we asked if they would be needed and were told not. no sides were even on offer on the menu, steak came out then told they had run out of chips, waitress offered a jacket potato but would have to wait 20 mins for it, non of the food came out together, staff rude and far too casual, one took a seat at our table to discuss there was no chips!!!!!! terrible experience, when we asked to complain the young lady just tutted and walked off.

Went to Elude for husbands 40th. We had a lovely evening , unusual surroundings, good service & whilst not the biggest menu in the world the food was very good. Would return , definitely worth a visit.
