Excellent meal at Gem. Everything from the herb bread through to the passion fruit dessert with pistachio biscuits with carried off with great skill. Well worth a visit at any time

Absolutely fantastic. One of the best meals I`ve had in a long time. intimate and cosy, couldn`t ask for more. Will be telling everyone.

The newspaper review was from 2003(!) and should be removed or up-dated. We went on 14.10.08, the only two diners all evening, which says something, credit crunch or no. Food moderate; service o.k. if a bit over-attentive, BUT: the price structure - absolutely awful. £19.95 for 3 courses - same price even though we only wanted 2, and nearly half the items subject to an supplement. All 4 of our choices were 'extra', adding £11.50 to the bill. Three eggcup size portions of creme brulee(about one decent size spoonful in all) cost an extra £2. Unbelievable. Sorry - better quality and value elsewhere.

Truly the best restaurant on the Wirral. The food is superb. Staff are friendly and professional. Atmosphere is very relaxing. Thoroughly recommended if you want all round quality and service.

Lovely food, well presented not cheap but worth the difference, very friendly, not at all stuffy; GORGEOUS wine, McGuigan Shiraz bin 2000. You won't be disappointed with a visit here; but don't tell TOO many people, it's our secret, OK?
